Fair play to Mullins he always sends his horses to the race they have the best chance of winning. She was readily brushed aside by CH at Kempton and then the fall last time. To win a Champion Hurdle you have to turn up 100% right on the day and she just hasn’t had the preparation to be able to do that.
Could be down to ITV STH. They’ve only had rights to the first 5 races in recent years but this year they have the first 6.
A poor looking Supreme and a good job Willie has declared everything bar the yard cat otherwise it would be a very small field.
So in the first 5 races at Cheltenham we have 4 odds-on favs. What a load of old bollocks. I'm focusing on the handicaps.
Desperate stuff innit. They may be watering the course but there is another type of watering that has taken over the competitiveness of the festival nowadays. Not saying there won't be an upset or two but many are formalities. If Brighterdays hadn't gone for the champ hurdle what price would CH be? He'll still win snug enough but at least it adds some edge to it.
I see Willie had a little 4 timer at Naas today, not all odds on either. Just going through the gears ready for Cheltenham.
Well... as stated I'm all in on TRANSMISSION in the Novices Chase. My biggest bet for quite a while and managed to snaffle some 10/1, 9/1 and 8/1 e way. Was waiting to see who they got to ride it. Mr P W Mullins...!@! I did get burnt ante post on the Ultima mind you but thankfully not to big stakes.
Also backed Hot Fuss in the Juvenile Hurdle. Won really cosily on the all weather a couple of weeks back. Rated 93 on the flat where its better form was on decent ground. This dry ground should help it. Blinkered first time also. 6 places 12/1 looks a solid bet.
