Well done the whole team and management. Fully deserved win. Difficult this week as all did well including the subs Gale Gbode Masterson
Well that was massively unexpected! To be honest Bradford hardly posed any threat throughout so it was a well deserved win. 1. Gbode- He keeps putting in good performances. I would love to see him add goals to his game. 2. Masterson- The goal may cloud the judgement however with him in the back line we looked a lot more solid today. 3. Gale- Another solid performance before the youngster.
35 games late ? - better than never ! Well done - to all - including Coleman - the subs were right, and didn't weaken the team.... The performance was really solid - it got better as the game progressed - and deserved the win.......In truth, Bradford were sharper on and off the ball - but met a resolute Gillingham, who showed the commitment and effort I have craved for 34 other games this season. The top 3 selection is difficult - but 1. Gbode - worked incredibly hard... He seems to have got stronger - and has improved on his quality.... I won't be surprised if we get bids for him. 2. Masterson - added a crucial goal to a super solid display. 3. Morris - magnificent save on 82 minutes... and don't forget his one-on-one save early in the 1st half. ....... all this makes me sad for McKenzie and Gale - both of whom could have been in my top 3 - but - as I say, my choices are based on the overall affect on the game and result. ((( now you'll ask why I didn't put Masterson at No.1 )))
1' Gbode - Really took the game to them 2 - Masterson - Cool throughout and a good finish, after the early yellow he showed excellent composure 3 - Hutton - Thought he was excellent today contained Bradfords most dangerous player and got forward with good intent too. Harsh on 7 of the other 8 who started as they were all excellent ( except Little who was lucky to stay on the pitch and gave the ball away a lot) Subs contributed too Nevitt gave us great energy and as for Johnny Williams a great contribution from the bench form him. Dack should watch that and understand why Johnny was preferred today. The best we have played under Coleman I thought, and I realise Bradford may have had an off day, but our ability to make the sides at the top of league look very ordinary is strange, maybe we are not as bad as results have been, but then again the league table doesn't normally lie!
1, Masterson so good to have Connor back looked self assured at the back and took5his goal well. 2, Gdobe Joe did not stop running again his pace scares defenders. 3, McKenzie he is so consistent and must be knackered after every game. Thought the complete team played well today reduced the form team to just a few chances and despite their manager saying they were the better team I thought we deserved the win.
Yes - I understand - but - I see that he has 'bulked up' a little -- has become physically stronger... He has a good pace ( and turns well with the ball .) ..I believe that his quality is improving - and Joe's becoming a real nuisance for defenders... obviously he can't do it all on his own - and needs players close to him --where Joe and others will benefit from his progress--- goals will then come in abundance........ Yesterday, he was unlucky - got pulled down when 'clean through' - and on another fantastic run, he overstretched his shot ( probably when knackered. )
Firstly, how glad am I that I was wrong. It was,nt the best game I have watched Gills play, but they played as a team for once. Not sure I would select 3, I would like to select all 15 who played, a great team effort. NOW THE DOWN SIDE. We had a great game against Walsall, and then played totally different ( BADLY ) albeit 2 draws and a loss. But not the same as the conviction against Walsall. How glad was I not to see Dack on the bench. Then to see Jonnie and he just dropped straight in and ran and ran and ran. 3 massive crunch games are ahead. And hopefully, 9 points. 2 are 6 pointers at the bottom of the table and sandwiched with a home game against Walsall. Who,s recent form has not been so good. Only 4 teams above us won over the weekend with 3 losses and 3 draws. 15 points still from the playoffs with 11 games still to play????? IS IT POSSIBLE or UNTHINKABLE
I think it's unthinkable Lenny. Although play offs would offer some nice financial reward for the owners, are we ready to take on L1, I think not. I think we need some stability within the coaching and back room boys, before we even consider going up - something has gone wrong this season, and one great win don't erase those problems. Get those problems sorted, prove we've got those problems sorted and go all out for autos next season, as a L2 club - the rewards for that will make up for any potential play-off financial losses. Afterall do we really want to come straight back down, having not identified the issues.
