He really is a class GK, Its why I so strongly defend him against the likes of PLT who wanted him replaced..... He's so young for a GK as well and will continue to improve.
I agree with this, everything seems to stick. Rarely see him drop something or parry an awkward one back into the danger area. He’s made a few errors this season but he’s clearly a good shot stopper and consistently reliable at doing the basics very well.
It was difficult for the lads playing against the extra man today, and even harder when Pedro got sent off.
Magnificent defensive display from City led to a well deserved point. Ref spoilt the game as a spectacle by sending off Pedro. We looked until that point as though we were going ot play them off the park. Penalty looked a dubious decision.
Aaaah but he was another Acun playing Football Manager clustefuck signing remember... Anyway, some really great comments about the team and manager on Bristol City forums not on NOT 606. Including , 'if only we show the same togetherness and effort on Tuesday', to 'I'm backing Hull next season' and 'brilliantly disciplined defending' and also, '11 v 11 we'd have got nothing out of the game'.
I feel we’ve seen enough this season to know that the team can turn up and compete with anyone in this league, they just don’t do it anywhere near as consistently as they should.
Bristol City assistant Chris Hogg told BBC Radio Bristol: "Frustration is the word - that's the true emotion. With them being down to 10 men for so long people will think we should have steamrollered them. "Having 10 men can galvanise teams but we just weren't quite at our best in breaking them down and that's the most frustrating thing. "They defended their box really well but it came down to belief and our quality. The penalty gave us a lift and gave the whole stadium a lift but we struggled to break down their block and that is something we will have to have a look at. "There were some good bits and some nearly bits but the boys need to back themselves. We know we could have done better in some moments. We didn't start the game with our usual intent." Hull City boss Ruben Selles told BBC Radio Humberside: "We will take the point but we came here with the clear intention of getting three. "We showed domination in the first 15 minutes and were the best team by far but the red card changed everything. We were unlucky with that situation. But I am proud of the effort. "The overall performance from the very beginning - winning the ball high and trying to play vertical with the build-up - showed the boys were ready to make a good performance and be competitive and the goal was a clear example of that. It was an amazing action from Joao with his technical ability." On Pedro's red card, Selles said he had not had time to think about appealing against the decision but "would look into it". "Things happen for you and against you so I am going to keep my opinion and talk about the performance of the boys. We should talk about the warriors on the pitch. "It really doesn't matter what I feel. I need to coach. I try not to speak too much about decisions."
I’d stick with the same starting XI and bring in Burstow for Pedro. I think we’ve looked nicely balanced with this current formation and wouldn’t want to mess around more than needed.
Before Castro wades in... ...5 capitalisation errors in 9 words. That's some going, Brady. Edit: oh, and a missing apostrophe.
