Can I like this post twice please.

Perhaps he just needs some extra sessions with Mark Prudhoe and a sports psychologist to get him in a positive frame of mind

    Happy with that.

Cardiff never threatened bar that chance second half. Their goal, for me, wasn’t even a chance.

we were comfortable, shame Roberts went off he looked good, both Mundle and Watson looked good happy to have them back.

only bad pointers for me today:
    - Rigg on the wing is a no, we lose width, I’d have put Watson on or Mayenda wide (but can see why reg didn’t)
    - 442 does not work unless we are expecting the other team to have the ball, ie Sheffield United. We’ve done it at home against low blocks and without a set piece might not get the win today, easiest formation to defend against in a low block
    - hjelde hot and cold again, can see he’s a centre back and fwiw think he’s not a bad player

    Another game, another gifted goal.

    Its definitely a trend.

A win keep things ticking over despite not being great.

    Mayenda has mad potential

Exactly, said it many times his reflexes are second to none. If he could also iron out the mistakes he has potential to be a Pickford level of a keeper.

It's very rare you get a keeper as good as he is at reflex saves and also distribution... certainly at this level. He's definitely saved us more points than he's conceded.

Dunno if it’s fatigue or what, but we need to be better with the ball. Feel like we move it so slow, no urgency. The three centre mids don’t really offer anything going forward. Mayenda is gunna be a star. Roll om Tuesday

This is our biggest issue, simply not clinical enough.

Thought we were quality in the first 20 mins and could have put the game to bed, once Robert’s went off we struggled and became a little predictable, at the end of the day nobody apart from the top 3 are going to come here and take us on or they will get blown away, teams come and sit in and make it difficult. We dug in and got the points and that’s all we can ask for, this time of season is very difficult because teams are fighting at both ends of the table and this year the table is tight. Thanks again RTB and enjoy your night everyone, I’m going to get sloshed with my lovely wife.

Is it just one more game Jobe has to avoid a yellow card?

The ex coach in me thinks this period where we are having to dig in and win a bit ugly is the best thing that could happen to this young side.

Young players dont learn a lot when the game is easy. 2 goals up and coasting doesnt achieve much in development terms. The prime example is Jobe last season having to slog it out. He learned at such a rapid pace. Others will be doing the same now. This is the period of a career when you learn how to cope. It is likely great for the likes of Rigg. Patterson the same, he is going through it a bit, but dropping him really is not the answer. He must be allowed to play through it imo. Remember individuals dont lose a game or win a game. The team does. Stick with these lads and the rewards will be far greater than if we panic. Thankfully Regis wont.
