Just getting back home. What a difference Alan Sheehan has made - not only taking 7pts out of a possible 9pts, but the style of football is positive and ‘good to watch’. I wrote after the Blackburn game that Vipotnik looked a different player: same again today. At last he is receiving a service from his teammates. Eom had his best game since his injury on international duty and scored a beauty. Franco was excellent again (bar one error) and plays well alongside O’Brien. As for Sheehan, 10/10 from me - he noticed that we were starting to tire and were getting overrun in midfield towards the end. What did he do - he decided rightly to shore it up by bringing on Fulton in place of the more attacking Cullen. “Alan Sheehan, we want you to stay” was reverberating in the East after the final whistle.
The difference since Luke went is like night and day ! Pity it didn't happen earlier. A fantastic win against a borough we used to struggle against !
Boro fan’s comment on Whittaker: “The last thing we needed signing was a light weight spineless fraud of a player like Whittaker. Scandalous performance from him” In fairness, he was pretty awful yesterday - one instance in particular was when he just belted the ball up into the air aimlessly….
Here’s another: “Whittaker taken off for Burgzorg. A truly terrible performance from him today, useless.”
