So we’re 1-1 with 20 odd minutes left looking good for a point (if not more) so why not bring on an attacking player for Robinson and carry on as it is? Oh no this amateur manager decides to go 5 at the back, thereby inviting the home team forward and hey presto it’s 2-1. So what’s the obvious thing to do with a chunk of time left? Yes go back to a back 4 and compete with the home team. No this incompetent manager stubbornly refuses to accept he’s made a cock up and so we play out the game in toothless fashion as we’ve got a limited number of players in midfield so have no real possession and just making it even easier for Sunderland. The man is a joke. If we stay up he cannot be given a new contract. He just can’t.
He is certainly prone to some elementary mistakes. Is he giving to much scope to his defensive coach? Who is the attacking coach?
The manager is completely out of his depth. Mannsverk/Chambers again and he leaves out Fish FFS. We are going down and it's all on the board.
It would help if there was somebody in the football club who could point out his elementary mistakes. He had the gypsy’s warning after the Bristol C away fiasco. He’s been a disastrous appointment. Why they gave him the job after his poor record through his interim period is beyond comprehension. (Well maybe not actually given we know the incompetent people who chose him) We’re lumbered with him though to the end. Our record of 4 wins in our last 22 games does not bode well with just 3 clean sheets since last October. On paper we have enough winnable home games but honestly how can we feel upbeat knowing our manager cannot pick the right team and tactics for 90 minutes?
Mannsverk/Chambers was the right choice to start up there, but the decision to go to a back 5 was abysmal - and for that repeat offence, he deserves the sack.
No other clubs in the Championship would have employed Riza. He's out of his depth and so are the back up staff. It's not their fault it's the boards. We are going down.
Backs to the wall performance from Hull today, player sent off (after he scored a very good goal) can see why the ref gave a red card, and an equaliser from the spot for Bristol, after a challenge that you see dozens of times a match. Hey ho, looks like it's down to the wire, although I still expect the bottom three won't escape relegation. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Just seen a replay of Mepham's goal. Shocking marking yet again, like Villa's and Burnley's goals. Something very wrong with the defensive set up.
Don’t apologise but he’s not the problem. Hopefully we’ll see Ramsey on Tuesday in our central midfield. Mind you with this clown of a manager he’ll probably create a list of all the central midfielders, then ask his assistant to give them numbers 1 through to 6 then Riza will randomly pick 3 numbers and think heck yes they’ll do. nb Then go 5 at the back if we just somehow go 1 up.
Is this all he can say? We probably would have come away with at least a point if he’d told his keeper at 0-0 not to play it short as if we’re going to beat their press to good effect (we’re 21st in the league for a reason) and at 1-1 manage the game competently and not go ultra defensive and concede virtually 100% possession to the team in 4th place.
