He's getting more and more desperate. Luckily these folks won't need to go back to Ukraine. Other countries will do the right thing and give them a home.

Yet more shame on the US.

I think the recruitment policies of companies are more balanced nearer London where workforces are multi race and multi national. I have worked for 2nr international contractors where people came from a swathe of backgrounds. Of those, I would say Costain were a model employer. Loved my time there.

On the other hand, I used to work for a company where people from ethnic minority backgrounds were removed through constructive dismissal and individual culpable protected by a director.

Honestly don’t want anyone banned tbh. I only brought it up as they were all frothing at the mouth to ban me for saying the most minor thing a few weeks ago<laugh>

Much like Trump, I wanted to apply reciprocal tariffs.

Came across this video with Jasmine Crockett giving her opinion on the political situation in America. Very entertaining.

She was excellent. If anyone uses the word DEI to describe her I will literally ask them outside for a fight.

You have to laugh at Reform. I see Rupert Lowe has taken a dig at Farage and questioned his leadership abilities. I think it is quite amusing that some right wingers are now starting to smell the coffee and seeing that Trump lite is potentially damaging.

I also see that Trump has delayed the levying of tariffs against Canada and Mexico and it is obvious Trump is resulting ti extreme measures to implement his policies. It is like political shock and awe yet I can see the rest of the world quickly getting fed up with the way the Trump administration wants to do business. Pleased to see both Canada and China calling Trump’s bluff.

Wondered too if anyone caught the profile about J D Vance on Radio 4 this morning ? It was confirmed that Vance is an admirer of Putin and a Republican colleague reiterated Vance 's opinion that the internal threats to Western Europe are far more serious than Russia. This includes too many immigrants and issues such as Islam. I was really shocked by this. Vances's world view is warped and he is clearly a racist. It was also stated that he will take over from Trump and be the leader of the Republicans for the next two elections. These people are seriously dangerous. There is no way that the UK should be entertaining having diplomatic relations with these kinds of people. More like Yexley Lennon than the slapstick Nigel Farage.

Time to ditch the US, I feel.

I think that nothing will quite match the corruption of Musk. DOGE savings going into his back pocket !

He makes Baroness Mone look like an amateur.

What savings? Every day he publishes something and the next it disappears from the site. The receipts don’t match the claims. And now Trump is apparently reeling him back in after accidentally admitting he was in charge of DOGE - having told everyone he was just an advisor.

    How the right is winning.

Engaging in online discussion on platforms that allow them access and 'platform capture' it.
Engage in salient arguments that might carry more unsavory undertones such as race but don't make it about race.
    Play the victim.
Invent threats and danger around every corner.
Take contrary positions wherever possible and continually erode and poke the opposition.
Appear reasonable without ever conceding a point.
    Turn outrage into aggression.

There is a playbook of this stuff on the right that is teaching right leaning people how to do this stuff.
    Its working.

I try to imagine how the actions of DOGE would play out if it happened here. No one would believe the value of savings and , if they existed, there would be demands to pass the savings over to the NHS. I am certain that those government departments affected would go on strike and others would come out in sympathy. Certainly teenagers would not be allowed to change passwords so that the computer systems no longer work. (Basically state sabotage. ) I am sure there would be protests in the street too.

With Musk effectively replacing the weather reporting satellites with his own system to his advantage and the size of contracts his businesses are securing, we would find injunctions going in place and arrests made. There would be public enquiries.

It is ironic that Trump is making derogatory comments about Lesotho whereas they are probably governing their country more democratically than the U S. All along, the American public laugh and clap along like performing sea lions and think this is what is needed to make their country great. Trump has turned America into a basket case state. You would normally laugh at the stupidity of the Americans but the consequences will have to be borne by the rest of the world.

I'm sure there there would be uproar if this bunch of Muscovites or their British equivalent were let loose in the UK with access to classified information and sensitive personal data. Hired without security vetting or, in most cases, sufficient training or experience

    "DOGE Kids"

Luke Farritor is one of the several engineers aged 19–24 working for DOGE with little to no prior experience in government.
"On February2, 2025, Wired reported the hires included several engineers aged 19–24 with little to no experience in government, including Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Marko Elez, Gautier "Cole" Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran. They and others of the approximately 40 people working for DOGE under Musk have aggressively questioned federal employees, refusing to disclose their last names, leaving their cameras turned off during video calls, calling federal employees "dinosaurs", and referring to conversations as "one-way interviews"; many of them are working at various agencies and using multiple anonymous email addresses. Farritor, for example, has at least three email accounts at various agencies with plans for more. The team has been called "Doge Kids" by some reporters.

On February6, The Wall Street Journal reported that Marko Elez had resigned from his role "after he was linked to a deleted social-media account that advocated racism and eugenics" having written that "I would not mind at all if Gaza and Israel were both wiped off the face of the Earth" in June 2024; "Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool" in July; and "You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity" and "Normalize Indian hate" in September. The following day, Musk polled X users as to whether Elez should be rehired. JD Vance called for Elez to be rehired, saying that "I don't think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid's life. We shouldn't reward journalists who try to destroy people. Ever. So I say bring him back." Musk then promised to re-hire him.

Edward Coristine, the 19-year-old son of the owner of snack company LesserEvil, (LesserEvil has distanced themselves from Edward Coristine) had been previously fired from an internship at Arizona-based data-security company Path Network in 2022 for "leaking internal information" to competing businesses. He boasted on Discord, weeks after being fired, about having retained access to the servers. In 2021, Coristine launched Tesla.Sexy LLC, a business that manages web domains for image hosting services, some of them registered in Russia. Some of the web domains managed by Coristine include children-sex.party, child-porn.store, kkk-is-cool.club, nigga.rentals, nigga-sex.download, owns-a-slave.shop, raping-women.club, ketamine-rape.date, rape.business, and rapes-wo.men, promoting the sale of child sexual abuse material, racial slurs, rape, and the Ku Klux Klan. Coristine claims to protect the privacy of his users, stating, "All your images are encrypted. We do not log IP addresses, device agents or anything else." He also collaborated with 'The Com', a social network of hackers associated with cybercriminal activity. According to experts, Coristine's past activities raise security clearance issues.

Gavin Kliger, 25, published a substack article titled "Why DOGE: Why I Gave Up a Seven-Figure Salary to Save America", which was hidden behind a $1,000 per month paywall and had no content. Concerns have been raised about his amplification of extremist viewpoints, including reposting content from white supremacist Nick Fuentes and misogynistic social media influencer Andrew Tate, and using social media "to call Hillary Clinton a slur, and demand military tribunals and executions of undocumented migrants who commit crimes". Mother Jones later reported on a deleted substack article written by Kliger which credited Ron Unz with beginning his "political awakening". Kliger has been characterized as an internet edgelord.

On February 24, the Washington Post reported that Farritor and Kliger manually blocked multiple times payments for life critical programs that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has approved by decree."

    Well isn’t it though?

    https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk

    About the Sentencing Council
The Sentencing Council for England and Wales was set up in April 2010 to promote greater transparency and consistency in sentencing, while maintaining the independence of the judiciary.

The primary role of the Council is to issue guidelines on sentencing, which the courts must follow unless it is in the interests of justice not to do so.

The Sentencing Council is an independent, non-departmental public body. We are part of the Ministry of Justice family of arm’s-length bodies

Rupert Lowe sees Nigel Farage as the new Michael Wilde it seems.

Who is Reform UK’s Leon Crouch?

Will Mawhinney rise from the grave to deduct 10 points?

It will be interesting to see at what point thr flip flopping of policies will be seen as incompetence and not Trump’s 'genius' for confusing his opposition. At some time this strategy will stop working

What is happening in the USA at the moment reminds me of when the weasels took over Toad Hall except in this case I am not sure that we have an equivalent of Rat, Badger, Mole, and Toad to kick them out.

    Incredible take

You think a man worth 3-400billion would publish all this data and then embezzle money while doing it?

    Use some logic

Why would he possibly do that?

If he’s as corrupt as you say, there would be far easier ways to steal money

Oh yes, because I’m sure the government has a solidly no leverage on these guys at all.

It does make me laugh that people still trust the government and these sorts of things enough to take their word at face value.

Spoiler: Britain is now as corrupt as a third world country. None of these councils or institutions are immune

This tweet by Trump says all you need to know about the manchild.

“Believe it or not, despite the terrible job he’s done for Canada, I think that Justin Trudeau is using the Tariff problem, which he has largely caused, in order to run again for Prime Minister. So much fun to watch!”.
