Unfortunately he has only ever scored one previous drop goal. I will leave to the FC amongst you to gloat where it was.
even as a Rovers supporter, I thought that was a great game that had everything, excitement, total commitment, tight decisions, maybe wrong decisions even with video ref - great atmosphere and the players drained at the end because they'd given 100% and had no petrol left in the tank - then compare that with city winning against Plymouth - fans spend hard earned money to support their {local] team and all you want is for the players give everything for the cause - Hull FC did that last night and well done for that - Im not always sure City do that - I hope I'm wrong but they don't always appear to give everything and that in turn affects the response from the stands
Union fly halves dont make 30 tackles a match, run the ball in etc. Easy to stay fresh of body and mind to slot those drop goals in Union when your not playing under fatigue
Not sure that Fc players 'gave everything for the cause' or 'gave 100%' many times last season when they were beaten by cricket scores every week home and away. I can only honestly say that in my many years of following City home and away I can hand on heart say the only time they did not give 100% was the 8-0 thrashing we suffered at Wigan under McCann, and even then everything Wigan did that night paid off for them. Are you also saying that City didn't give 100% v Plymouth when you 'compare'? Because if you are then your post is bias bollocks towards RL.
Firstly, I always read your posts with interest and agree with a very high percentage of what you say - however if you believe the only time City did not give 100% was the Wigan game then sadly I can't help you because that is bollocks
That was the only time I have seen the majority of the team throw the towel in. Another time which ran it close was when we were beaten by Notts County at Boothferry Park in the FA Cup, 5-2. Chairman Richard Chetham had sacked Stan Ternant a couple of days before then cleared off on holiday leaving the team managerless. Obviously the odd player, sometimes a couple of players haven't appeared to be giving 100% but the whole team? No, so I stand by the Wigan comment, because I thought that night they didn't want to play for McCann, or the chairman? The worse case of an individual player not wanting to play was that Ben Arfur ? character we got on loan from Newcastle. Man Utd away and Bruce picked him to play in a position he didn't fancy. First couple of minutes ( all from memory, could have been longer) we got a free kick, Arfur took it and rolled the ball straight into touch. Bruce hauled him off. If, as a team, any team in football didn't want to play and not give 100% they would get hammered five, six, seven nil every week. Apart from the 8-0 Wigan away defeat can you recall the last time City were soundly beaten by more than four or five goals home or away? I also think all the team gave 100% against Plymouth on Tuesday, which is the game you compared last night's RL match with. I rest my case.
Brilliant Rovers first half v St Helens... Mikey Lewis back early... Wonderful bruising brilliant performance.... Much to the chagrin of the SKY match commentators.
Rovers first back to back wins at St Helens since before WW2. Only team with a 100% record. Rovers BPM will be off the scale.
