Keeper just knees Solanke right in the lower back, what can you do about that?

Oh well, we were **** and they still only won 1-0. Optimistic we’ll still go through.

And then what?

With every small step forward we take two steps back. It's the sign of a manage who is bluffing his way through managing at this level.

The guy is clueless and so is our football.

I think he's just being used wrong. Play him as an attacking midfielder behind a proper striker.
That weird half left-wing role next to an unfit Udogie does nothing for either of them.
Worth going back to what WindyCOYS said a couple of months ago about our midfield prioritising physicality over technique

If we're missing either Deki or Maddison, or they're having a bad day at the office, we start to look a lot like Ramosball

And then we try and win in the next round. We have the players to win this competition so while we’re in it then there’s a chance.

The midfielders that he selected have all got better technique than physicality, though.
I think he just used them wrong, picked the wrong formation and didn't pick a striker.
I'd also question the fitness of a number of starters and subs, Udogie and Odobert in particular.

Sarr is definitely more skillful than the role he has in the system pigeonholes him into

Similar arguments can be made for Bentancur and Bissouma, too

Had plenty of transfer windows to fix this quite obvious issue though. I don’t get why the club haven’t got another creative player to help out Kulu. Maddison isn’t that guy

And virtually everyone else, too.

Our wingers are better close to goal, so he pushes them out wide. Our fullbacks are the opposite.
Maddison is too deep and wide, Bergvall's too wide, Bentancur lacks support and is too high up.
Tel is isolated and isn't strong enough to play the lone striker role.
Everyone gets run into the ground, then brought back early and crocked again.

So looking forward to AZ coming to London next week to park the bus!

If you think today was bad, let’s see what happens next week.

Genuine question, what is the system? It appears to be a free for all at the best of times.

I can't get my head around what I just watched again from Spurs.

It’s why I’m so critical of him and so certain he wouldn’t work in the PL for Spurs. His style is too chaotic and lacks control. You just can’t get away with that at the top levels of football.

433 with a focus on overloading the channels

The biggest issue this season is we've routinely given the impression that we have no interest in playing through the centre at all, which is where players like Maddison and Bentancur would thrive, which is what is making our approach so predictable
