will this season go like last season after a poor display with the final ball not going to the target and passes going astray and a poor 1-1 draw against WBA who we should be beating. Lets first talk about last season 2023-24 Games pld +/- points Leicester 35 40 78 Ipswich 35 25 75 Leeds 35 37 73 Southampton 35 24 70 WBA 35 18 59 Last season We did the double over Ipswich and Leicester This season we done double over Sheff utd and virtually the double over sunderland (messlier slip up) Southampton did double over us and beat us in final . This season burnley almost done double over us, we just managed a draw . If sunderland and Sheff utd go up this season it would be same as last season with the 2 teams we done double over going up as I say it was virtually a win apart from meslier slipping up. Then that would leave us possibly facing burnley in the play off final lets hope it does not come to that . On Saturday if Sheff utd win they go level on points with us with Leeds having a game in hand putting the pressure on us to deliver, Leeds need 20 points from 11 matches to possibly guarentee promotion at 96 points , last season we got 17 points from the 11 matches , if leeds get some injuries it could go horribly wrong after the WBA game will we see a spectacular collapse , I reckon Leeds need 6 wins and 2 draws out of 11 matches left to get promotion. what's your thoughts on the situation and similarities to last season as regard to doing virtually a double over the two teams that went up ?
So last season we were five behind Leicester and behind Ipswich, this season were well clear. Where’s the comparison. Well needed three ot max four wins after international break for promotion. Well do that. And then we’ll have the summer to prepare for the misery ahead
Last week we needed 6 wins and 3 draws, now we need 6 wins and 2 draws. That also means we will have the same amount of defeats in the last 11 games as we have in the previous 35
The comparison is 2 of the top 4 last season we did doubles over and this season 2 of the top 4 we done doubles over as I said meslier messing up at last min. So we had virtually done the double over 2 top of the 4 , then there is almost similarities between southampton last year and burnley this year as southampton did the double over us and burnley almost done the double over us . So what I was saying is if Sheff utd and sunderland go up just like ipswich and Leicester did the 2 teams we did doubles over , there are similarities also between the other top 4 in burnley and southampton last year as burnley almost done a double over us and southampton did the double over us and we ended up playing them in the final , while burnley did almost a double over us so is it going to be destiny that we play burnley in the play off final and with the WBA result on Saturday I'm wondering if that's the start of us doing the same as last year , I'm hoping it's not of course but to add to it , I was trying to check the teams we played the last 10 games of the season and I looked at portsmouth on the internet and it said the date was 9.9.2025 as if we were playing portsmouth next season hopefully it was a printing error please let it be a printing error ffs .
Ha ha ,Yes but 6 wins and 2 draws at least gets us to 96 points which I think is enough to get Leeds promoted , but this is part of the season we have to get the points in ,unlike last season when we did not.
Pointless comparing both seasons. Many different personnel this season and we are leading from the front. Last season we had the pressure of having to win nearly every game as we were playing catch up
We got points last season, just Ipswich got more, we were playing catch up most of last season, we're in the driving seat now. Not saying it's done and dusted but no need to think we are doomed to failure either. We've got 2 tough away fixtures coming up, Portsmouth who have a decent home record and the type of team we struggle against also a team we always seem to struggle to get a result against at Loftus Rd , 4 points from those and I'll be very happy.
unbeaten in 17 games cmon get a grip. you can't win them all the baggies were well worth their point they aint pushovers. it was a long week lose 2 or 3 on the trot and then the conversation can maybe take a turn like this. We are in pole position and untill we aren't everything is rosy.
Leeds need to get to 96 points to be safe and promoted as ipswich went up last season and I don't want us to be scraping through on the last game.
Not so , the catch up I can understand but we did catch up at one point and I think we went top for 1 or 2 matches last season but yet we still did not get promoted , to be sure of promotion this season we need another 20 points out of 11 games left.
Yes I would be happy with 4 points there as it means 2 points a game , with 11 games left at 2 points a game it will give us 98 points but you also have to factor in injuries and seen as though we never reinforced the team and Sheff utd did its still abit shakey for me.
Will you still say it's rosy if Sheff utd win on Saturday and draw level on points with Leeds ? We have a game in hand but we have to at least get a point and even if we get a point it means we are only 1 point in front of Sheff utd , we f.cked up against WBA , I think we also played WBA Last season near the end and F.cked up then. Can someone check that ?
I also think farke has to do something about his tactics of bringing subs on at 70 min mark as teams are adjusting to it as WBA Did , for remainder of season we have to do better and some different tactics or teams will adjust and frustrate us.
In fairness, as according to the Sky commentator we are the highest scorers in the division in the last 15 minutes of matches, I’m not sure we can really criticise Farke’s use of his substitutes.
I can't saying drawing 1-1 with the baggies as knacking up. Look you can't win them all and if u can't win take a point in which we did. As of The Blades catching up so be it ..if we finish 1st or 2nd it's bingo either way. Let's put it another way would you of taken 7 points from Sunderland,Blades,West Brom before a ball was kicked? There will be bumps along the road but we are still well away from the holes. Sit back and enjoy it's hard I know but if you.cant enjoy it now 17 games unbeaten you never will.
I'm not but teams are finding us out that we wait till 70th minute to use subs , they are holding back subs till then and then counteracting us as WBA did , I'm saying farke has to come up with a plan B and if we do get into premiership our subs will be up against world class subs
A draw with Sheff utd would have given them an extra point, if we were to get 7 points,we got them in the perfect order.
