Oakwood Park has closed …..

“Despite the ongoing investment visitor numbers have declined, the financial performance of the park has suffered, making further investment unsustainable.

“The unrelenting economic challenges ahead, increases in costs, affecting all areas of the operation from; ride parts to electricity costs, food and beverage inflation, increases in NLW and changes to national insurance thresholds have all impacted the decision.”

Huge financial hit for the local area - so much for having a plan to maintain/reduce energy bills. So much for not increasing NI - just a reminder, the threshold reducing from £9100 to £5,000 has resulted in an increased cost of £615/employee - a huge cost increase for a business that employs a large number of seasonal/part-time workers. (Not forgetting an increase of 1.5% above £9,100)

Probably would have survived if they built it in Swansea on the land just off the m4 at felindre where they've held istethfods ? Larger population on its doorstep. To far to go regularly where it is now. I hope Follyfarm survives that's a brill place for kids.
