Exactly. All this ‘Russia won’t accept peacekeepers’ nonsense. It’s not up to them. They are the aggressors and at some point we have to say enough. They are weak except for nukes and Putin likes being alive.

“They are weak except for nukes” LOL, do you hear yourself?

They also have hypersonic missiles and a much larger military than the UK btw. I am not sure why the left are suddenly such war mongerers, but it’s not a good idea at all

Yeah, I mean the reason not to be tough on Russia is very clear.

Are you going to go and fight on the frontline?

You seem to be very heavily advocating for more aggression in this conflict. When are you signing up?

You guys on the left are constantly telling us that we can't keep pensioners warm, we can't lift the 2 child benefit cap, we can't get 4m children out of poverty because of a £24b black hole where do these billions come from for war?

Peace can only be accomplished through strength. Not sucking Putin’s cock.

It will never fail to blow my mind how well propaganda and the media works on people.

You have been completely conditioned into supporting something completely insane. It’s quite incredible to hear/watch this stuff play out in real time.

The EU has very little strength without America. I don’t know why people are pretending otherwise.

Not to mention the cost. And the impact on the climate for all this military might that you seem gleeful to cheer on. How can you claim you care about climate change and then advocate for more war?

The left make no sense to me at all

Listen, you are a product of a system of echo chambers who treats American politics like football and says things like Biden Crime Family, Libtard and Cabal. You are a product of the very system of rightwing thought bubbles manipulated by wealthy men like Musk to do their bidding. When Schad was here he knew exactly which post you had lifted all your ideas off each week. You are that shallowly predictable. Don’t speak to me aboht independent thought. Even today you admit you are indoctrinated against the EU.

Russia is the villain here. Trump can’t even say that. You can’t even say Trump is an idiot for that.

Russia’s invasion had nothing to do with Nato. Here is Putin telling you why he did it: http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/66181

Don’t say that is propaganda either. That is the ****ing Kremlin website. Putin is absolutely clear: Ukraine and all former Soviet Countries belong to Russia. That isn’t a set of empty words. That is Putin’s entire belief system.

When the wall came down he was sitting in East Germany, fuming. He wants it all back.

And now his army of bots are all saying: agree to this **** peace deal or WW3. They are all saying: would you fight? And you are repeating it. Your total inability to question Trump and the right make you the perfect patsy for Russian disinformation.

No peacekeepers means no peace. Russia’s demand. Well why is the world not railing against Russia for that? Why are you not apoplectic with rage against that literally intolerable demand?

Finland joined NATO. Nothing from Russia. Yet the US promises no Ukraine in NATO - to Russia. They could at least lube Ukraine’s arse before they **** them.

Simultaneously, Trump is removing the structure US sanctions are built on. He has removed the cyber security that watches Russia. He is so deep in Putin’s pocket only a moron couldn’t see it.

So yeah, Ukraine needs some people with balls to stand up for them. Who would have thought all the fascist right would have put on dresses and adopted female pronouns.

You are emotional and naive. You are not thinking about an end goal or any strategy. You are getting caught up in a bloodlust because the media is telling you to.

    IMG_3048.jpeg

This map, from the Cold War, shows the locations where Russia was aiming its nuclear weapons.

They now have hypersonic missiles with greater ranges giving them even more fire power and flexibility in how to deploy that firepower. We don’t even have the intelligence to know without help from the US.

This is the reality of what you are dealing with. A psychopath that would not hesitate to level the entire country.

Starmer and the EU’s words are pathetically hollow to Putin. He knows they don’t have the strength, man power or military might without America. Who very well may pull out of NATO altogether in the near future.

You and your communist boyfriend Keir Starmer can beat your chests all you like, pretend to be hard and you can throw insults at me, but the facts are the facts. Putin has the cards in this situation.

Trump and JD Vance are aware of this fact. This does not make them Putin sympathisers. It makes them logical.

By the way - the same energy policies, which YOU advocated for, are in large part responsible for this mess.

I think the protection America was giving at the time was what made it difficult to refuse them support in Iraq and Afghanistan. The much talked about "special relationship" was all about that I think. I'm not aware of any preferential treatment that relationship has given the UK. As things stand I'm not sure how much protection we can rely on.

Everyone has been keeping direct involvement off the table for good reason. Now, all this talk of boots on the ground is ridiculously fool hardy. Just because their military has been shown not to be as fearsome as their reputation doesn't mean we can now just do as we please. A European Peacekeeping Force would be seen as a serious provocation in Russia and a huge risk for Europe to take without the USA on board. NATO's threat to Russia was only ever because of America's firepower.
I think any idea of our military (even as peacekeepers) in Ukraine would be hugely unpopular with the public and I also think the rest of Europe would want no part of it anyway. So unless Starmer knows they are prepared to commit, his comments could make him look very foolish at home and abroad.

It's certainly complex, and there's no "good" solution (other than Russia pulling out it's troops, giving back the land it stole, and ****ing off - but that's not happening).

I think the point being, if those troops are in there, Putin isn't just going to attack and not give a toss. He may be a horrible, horrible piece of work, but one thing he isn't is stupid. Particularly if there's American workers on the ground. When Os says that he wouldn't hesitate to use his nukes, he would. He absolutely would. Because he knows that would mean mutually assured destruction.

Now if he did ignore the troops and wander in anyhow...well then we'd certainly know how much Trump is compromised, but yeah, that doesn't bear thinking about in either direction.

It'll be interesting to see how things pan out now. The key meeting is, of course, when he comes to the table. Difficult times.

I guess in some ways we're waiting out until one or both of them dies. Hopefully it doesn't go tits before that.

By the way, of Putin whines that it’s a provocation, perhaps it should be pointed out that if he doesn’t like it, maybe he shouldn’t go invading other countries?

Basically since WW2, the USA has been ‘forcing’ Europe to de-militarise and effectively saying they will be our protector. Our politicians over here were silly enough to believe that the arrangement could go on forever.

They didn’t nationalise or protect our energy, they outsourced all of our manufacturing and hollowed out British engineering. Then they didn’t count on being effectively betrayed by American selfishness- even though there is some precedent for this (eg the Suez Crisis)

Essentially we allowed ourselves to be bullied into being vassal states of the US and now they have flipped the script on us.
It’s awful but also sort of expected if we had vaguely competent leadership for the last few decades. Unfortunately we have been largely governed by incompetent morons for many years now.

But what we definitely DONT need is our European leaders suddenly thinking they are billy big bollocks and thinking we can go toe to toe with Russia because that is absolutely ludicrous and suicidal.

Almost all of our military prowess is reliant on America in some way

Why should zelensky not dress appropriately for the meeting?

Everyone else has the decency and respect to dress up for important state meetings.

    Agree with that, largely.

Your last part I think is wrong though. Nobody is suggesting going ‘toe-to-toe’ with Russia in this deal, but providing what will be seen as a deterrent to Putin by providing a peacekeeping force to help hold the ceasefire/peace. Putin isn’t just going to bluster in and start taking out EU forces. He’s a thundercunt, but he’s not mad. He knows that scenario doesn’t end well.

If he sees a way of getting back to the top table, he gets to keep some of the land he’s stolen, and there’s a hope of at least US sanctions being eased, he’ll take that.

Yeah, why would a man showing the world he is at war wear the gear of war. How did Churchill dress when he visited the White House? Oh…

And why goad him about it?
