They aren't. Its just Donald Trump trying to make a deal and thinking its OK to concede territory to get a quick deal through. To him its business with nothing other than "get the deal done."

If people really feel that Reform is a better alternative based on everything they’ve seen then there is no hope for the future of this country.

**** me I would vote Tory over Reform and that makes me want to ****ing shower, they would stab the people of this country in the back so fast it would make your eyes swivel, a vote for Farage is a vote to hand the U.K. over to Trump and Putin.

Maybe Europe should collectively return American Ambassadors to the states as a sign of solidarity and support for Ukraine.
And if they want to turn their backs on Ukraine/Europe then maybe their forces that are stationed in Europe can go back too.
Europe may as well get used to standing alone.

    You are being too kind.
A drone attack on a golf course would be difficult to defend, if there are any terrorists on here.
    See below for an idea.

Just remembered that Zelensky is/was meant to be in London on Sunday for the summit that the UK is hosting with Ukraine and other western leaders. That's fun timing...

Reform have no policies, their whole ethos is based on making people afraid of something that doesn’t exist. It’s exactly the same strategy that persuaded people to vote for Brexit.

Ironically, one of the chimeras that the Leave campaign kept on about might actually happen now, in the light of Trump’s abandonment of the Western Alliance that has prevailed since 1941. If the USA leaves NATO, then maybe it’s time for a European joint defence organisation.

Being blind and thinking the sun shines out of Trumps ar5e does not equal "siding with Russia over Ukraine." That's the usual modern either/or that has got us into the state of the world we are in these days. It is quite possible to just be pro US or pro Trump without taking sides on something like this. More probably is they couldn't care less about Ukraine or Russia. They are just pro Trump not pro Putin

The "a vote for X is a vote for Y" BS has worked so well hasn't it!
The "a vote for X is enabling Z" has worked so well hasn't it!

They tried to ban the nazi party and stop them being an option way back when. That worked well didn't it.

For lots of people that warble on about history repeating........People seem to like to repeat the mistakes of the past.

It’s a bit like constructive dismissal. I wonder/suspect it might have been a coordinated attack to force the issue and make Zelenskyy resign. I see Lindsay Graham is now saying he should. Nice idea chaos, you can put someone more Russia compliant in.

(Though I’d pay good money to see them try that with Klitschko).

Yeah, I will admit that once I saw it playing out, I was asking who has been earmarked by the US and Russia to take over as Ukrainian leader then. Presumably someone's been/being positioned in the background

Do you not think this has worked to Zelensky's advantage ? I have never seen a statesman humiliated like that before.

I really believe Starmer should have visited the White House after Zelensky. Thus would allow Starmer to ostracise Trump by ...

    1. Expelling US diplomats.

    2. Enforcing tax demands against America companies like Amazon.

    3. Banning X.

    4. Ban the importation of Teslas.

    5.Stop sharing intelligence with US
    6. Threaten to leave AUKUS

    7. Deny US Navy access to Navy dockyards.

    8. Cancel state visit to Trump and change to President Xi.

9 Float idea of Russian recovery of Alaska.

    10. Offer Canada trade incentives.

We can then reinstate once we have some sense out of Whitehouse.

Expel US diplomats? Tell the US Navy to **** off? Jesus Christ Ian. We don't want to damage relations with the US beyond repair. Trump is only president for 4 more years. The US must, and will be a huge ally way beyond that orange ****wit's term in office.

Pretty much every major European leader has released a message of support for Ukraine. Starmer noticeably silent. The apparent success of yesterday has put him in quite a tough position today.

I'm not sure anyone comes out of this looking particularly good but I actually wouldn't be shocked if it was staged, or at least planned in advance to some extent.

For Trump it's business as usual. He splits opinion with many supporting him and many others vilifying him. He clearly doesn't care about that and never has. As for Zelensky, if (when?) he now has to do a deal he can say he's been backed into a corner. Everyone saw how he publicly stood up to the Americans but ultimately he's been betrayed by the nasty orange man and has no choice.
