Game was good, we were clearly superior but Newcastle had one tactic and Wilson missed the target so again we had another gear here were didn't use. Once goal 2 went in Newcastle took off 4 players and ended the game. They ran up a white flag. We can't assume the cup final will be anything like this. Atwell was useless and enabled them to foul and foul so the league cup final has to be reffed better.
It is tough atm But it is between the two PSG games and they gave us a good run for our money last time Being down can free up the team to just enjoy themselves Just hope we go for it and put more pressure on Arsenal Still have a derby to go and those last 4/5 fixture read like a who’s who to screw us over Would not want to have to go into the Palace game HAVING to win things do look okay atm though
Was very poor, I prefer seeing less cards personally for legitimate fouls - not everything is ‘cynical’ just because the player is moving forward with the ball. BUT, you can’t just ignore some of the ones yesterday where the sole intention is to stop the play and you’re no where near the ball.
Its just one of those annoying unwritten laws where because the "foul" is on the keeper, it'll be given. If it was against a defender (like Everton's on Konate) chances are the goal would've stood.

I don't think Atwell would have given it regardless of who was fouled. You knew from the first 5 minutes, not awarding a penalty but instead giving it the other way, which way the refereeing was going to go. I don't know what's happened with some of these referees, like Oliver and Atwell, who were once regarded as the best referees coming through. Anthony Taylor's running rings round them atm and I never thought I'd ever say that.

Klopp was stuck in his thinking with the only formation in his head being 433 and wanted szoboszlai to grunt for trent and salah like henderson had done. slot has his own formation. its not quite 4231, its a little bit different to that but he is suiting szoboszlai down to the gorund as he can run about freely and get involved. he is playing 8/10 and is free to go box to box as he sees fit. Macallsiter is playing 6 to 8 and is free to move as he likes. exactly. they will be "more dangerous" in the final but equally i saw nothing out of them yesterday i didn't expect. Tonali and Guimares don't like to track runs they like to foul and do anything bar track and work. If we get a ref who is honest and actually gives a card or two then the game will be ok. Otherwise they will be enbaled to hack there way though it. We will be in constant danger of that ball thorugh to isak though absolutely.
