Good Morning. It's Thursday 27th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road 49ers agree take-over deal at Ibrox After months of negotiation, 49ers Enterprises have finally agreed a take-over deal with Scottish giants Rangers, and will acquire a controlling 51% stake in the Ibrox club. This move underscores the growing trend of American investment in Scottish football, with Dundee, Dundee United, Hibernian and Aberdeen among others already attracting US capital. Rangers, a club steeped in history and boasting a 50,000-seater stadium, offers access to the fierce Old Firm derby against Celtic, a fixture with global appeal. Crucially, Rangers' established dominance in Scotland, alongside Celtic, almost guarantees European qualification, including the lucrative Champions League pathway. However, the takeover isn't without potential complications, particularly concerning 49ers Enterprises’ existing ownership of Leeds United. Scottish Football Association (SFA) rules, designed to protect the integrity of competitions, restrict individuals from holding controlling stakes in multiple clubs simultaneously. Article 13 of SFA regulations could pose a hurdle, potentially requiring special dispensation for the deal to proceed given the shared ownership with Leeds. The coming months will reveal how this ambitious deal progresses and its impact on both Rangers and, indirectly, Leeds United. With Premier League football all but guaranteed next season, the 49ers have two options. Flip the club for a quick profit, or be in it for the long haul! The latter, although financially more lucrative, will involve a long term project and massive investment to stabilise the club - with no guarantee of success. please log in to view this image Tammy Abraham on Leeds radar With promotion seemingly a formality, Leeds are already turning their attention to strengthening their squad, particularly in attack. Patrick Bamford's best days are well behind him whilst Mateo Joseph probably needs a season out on loan before being dropped in at the deep end. There's reason to be optimistic that Joel Piroe could do a job in the top flight, but if they are to survive, will also need to bring real quality in! One name reportedly on Leeds’ radar is Tammy Abraham. Currently at Roma but on loan at AC Milan, the 27-year-old striker is looking to return to England this Summer after four years in Italy. He has spent the season at AC Milan where he has netted eight times in all competitions from just over 1200 minutes of game time, mainly from the bench. Roma will likely demand a significant fee for Abraham, potentially around the £34-40 million mark they paid for him. Despite his modest goal tally this season, his Premier League experience and length of contract (Summer 2027) give Roma leverage. Morning all. We will certainly need strikers when promoted. Bamords gone, Joseph no where near that standard. Piroe would be a great asset to spring from the bench so a new man is required. Not easily got though as Arsenal have shown. They've blown their title chance because of an inability to sign a replacement striker or all their crocked ones. Personally I think the 49ers will have learned a lot from our last relegation and the disastrous effects on club valuation and they might just cash in with maybe holding a minority stake in Leeds. Are you watching Marcus. BTW Elland, can you remove that hideous Rangers image from the morning post. Its making me ill
Bamford finished .... I'm positive he'll rise like a phoenix from the treatment table and go with us to Europe....as a rep for Medicare ...Abraham's will be one of a multitude of links should we finally put an end to the 'leeds are falling apart again' ditty ...
Bamford is fine, he is just following the recovery plan given to him by an Estate Agent in Southampton
I hope he doesn't mind but I have unashamedly copy & pasted the below from a LIW post on JA606 - has his own style but what a cracking post talking about teams January Transfer business Sheffield Utd Choudhury Started only two games. Breteton Diaz - Just two goals in seven games, but been a decent signing Cannon - no goals, absolute Cart Horse. And £11m Clarke - Struggled, now injured Holding - on big money, only played 53 mins in last 700 days Burnley Shelvey - played 12 mins Barnes - played 11 mins, fat cheerleader Edwards - only 115 mins, taken time to get match fit and looks a player Sonne - played 7 mins Sunderland Danns - 0 mins and now out for season. Le Fee - Just one goal and one assist, and now out for 8 weeks. Very disappointing for the folk who hadnt heard of him 2 months, but had decided he was the best player in the Champ Special Mention Louie Barry No goals, no assist, and now gone back to Villa Injured. Very disappointing for the folk, who never seen him play but decided be would be best number 10 in the championship. Leeds United Looked, but nobody fitted the critea, squad settled, and have won every game since window. Looking good, but would have felt better if we’d have signed at least another 6 wingers. You never know with injuries
Sprained ankle can take 6 months, minimum 12 months for a twisted knee and at least 8 weeks for a bad haircut!
My thoughts exactly. Some people are getting ahead of themselves, which can certainly come back to bite you on the arse with our ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
Yeh we have a top 6 side visiting at the weekend and some potential banana skin away games coming up. Long way from done yet, but we’re in good shape and I’d certainly rather be in our position than anyone else’s.
Farkes update on Ampadu. They're going to try that the injury without surgery so he could be back after international break but 50/50 if approach will work. I it doesn't then it'll be surgery and four months out

Think it was 3 years ago today that one of the biggest mistakes in LUs history was made Radrizani and Orta have a lot to answer for Yes I know time to move on but I will never forget the man or the football he got us playing I’m still waiting for the 49rs to prove their worth it that’s just the way I think
You need to get inside my mind(not a pretty sight) to understand All I’m saying is that the 49rs have not proved anything to me yet, stabilised the club maybe but I would like more than that
