Sinik is back in training, but his fitness levels are way behind the first team, so he'll play for the U21's before being considered for the first team. Where he'll no doubt pick up an injury keeping him out until May.
I hope he has an acl in june When his contracts done the **** Sadistic meh Guys been paid an absolute fortune for doing nothing
The only positive to get from the Matazo injury is that he hadn't been here long enough to make himself indispensable
I'd say that the best thing about the Matazo injury is that he'll be like a new signing in the 2026 January transfer window. Could give us a pep in our League 1 relegation battle.
It’s really unfortunate and I’m gutted for the kid. On a related note, I’m not sure why some City fans on X replying to Cooper seem to think three ACLs in one season is some sort of record. Wolves currently have three players out with ACL injuries and Real Madrid had three players get ACL injuries last season between August and December. Two of them were days apart in August.
prior to this season, when was the last time that one of our players got a season long, major knee injury? Snodgrass? I can't believe that it's a coincidence. Something has to be wrong with the pitches, training load, boot choice, or whatever. It's mad!
Worst thing about ACL injuries is that players often never return to the same level. Hope that isn't the case for our boys, a fair bit's been spent on them
I don't think it's a coincidence but the problem is wider and not unique to us. The demands placed on players is significantly higher these days. I have also read in the past that certain training methods can impact it, particularly when training is specialised towards one specific sport as it can mean other muscles that have the potential to support the knee aren't conditioned enough. Thats why I find it strange when I hear that certain footballers don't really do gym work as this would surely help with this.
I don’t think it’s S&C or training. I think it’s a mix of incredibly bad luck in some cases but there’s also a case to be made that pitches and boots/studs are a factor. I’ve noticed a lot more ACL injuries occurring in the top five European leagues and the Championship in the last few years. I mentioned Madrid because they had three players have ACL injuries in just a few months and Militão has since ****ed his ACL on his other knee.
Yeah, good point. It’s probably not clubs’ training methods but players’ individual attitude or approach. Some players come back saying their damaged knee feels ‘stronger’ than the other and some players even come back with thighs and calves looking like rugby players or powerlifters.
