No doubt he will be working on all of this now, but I think what LTL was getting at is that us fans won't actually see the result of any of this work until this season ends and we are able to recruit and bring in a new manager. I think we will have a better idea of how Spors wants to operate when the Summer window closes - until then we just have to hope he knows what he is doing!
Oh I have no doubt he’ll be working on stuff behind the scenes, including identifying players, managers and would have thought bringing in reinforcements that he knows. What I mean is that stuff that we’re going to notice won’t be perceivable until the summer (as in manager/signings etc).
I'd like them to come out and explain what went wrong and why, and how they're trying to fix it. I'd like them to clearly explain what the plan is for next season, what the plan is for the following season if we go up/or don't. I'd like them to tell us what season ticket prices are for next year. I'd like them to tell us why they gave up in December, I'd like them to explain how being part of a multi club model is helping us at all. That's just for starters. Failing that I'd really like them to say. Sorry lads, this is harder than we thought. We're looking for new buyers. In the mean time here is a partial refund on your season ticket. It was unfair of us to present as a championship club in December and completely give up on trying to play competitive football, whilst charging you PL prices. They can’t publicly be saying and talking about next season when we still technically have something to play for in this one.- Why?
It will be something along the lines of “apologies for this season we know we let the club and the fans down, we have made changes to make us better” then a load of fluff about next season and coming back stronger. You aren’t going to get any specifics on why things went wrong, what the plan is for next season or the one after. It will just be broad statements apologising/stating we want to come straight back to the PL next season. I’d expect season ticket prices etc to be released pretty shortly after relegation as well, but long enough for their message to have been read by everyone who needs to as they will hope the statement entices some people to renew. Because to publicly acknowledge relegation before it happens is a terrible look from a PR perspective. Not like it makes a shred of difference if they release the statement now or in a months time when we are officially relegated.
Basically agree with this. Even if the club do a comprehensive internal review they're not going to say much in public. No football club does that. Based on the way the club have done things in the past, what we might get at some point is an interview with Spors where he says what he plans to do in the future. Depending what he says it might then be possible to read between the lines and work out what they think has gone wrong.
I don’t think we can really expect any organisation to wash its dirty linen in public. How many of us would go to work for a company that besmirched its employees reputation in public?
Everyone will be pleased to hear that Goztepe won 5-0 today with Saints loanees scoring 3 of the 5 (Juan with 1 and Matsuki with 2). Rasmus working his magic
i don't know much about either other than that they are both young and having decent seasons. It was only in jest though, the only way the multi-club model works for us is if these players do develop well. Either they can help us in the future or be sold for good profit.
Will he be able to get a work permit off the back of one year in Turkey? (genuine Q, not sure of the weight the system puts on Turkey right now)
But my point was( maybe poorly articulated) that anyone worth their salt and with a strong reputation would be unlikely to move to an organisation that disparaged its employees in public.
