Not sure why it took so long to send the referee to the monitor. Or him to then stand at the monitor. That was a red card on first viewing, second viewing, third viewing, every viewing.
It really is baffling that Arsenal didn't make any sort of effort (one bid for Watkins that had no chance of succeeding notwithstanding) to sign a striker. They did not learn anything from last season and it's cost them dearly.
90% Cooper. 10% Martin looking at his bench and deciding that his mate Fraser would be the best option for dealing with Fatawu. No-one will ever know if Cooper would have kept them up. But there's no way things would be worse than they are now if they'd stuck with him. I think they've even left it too late to phone Dyche.
Points gathered by the bottom half since Cooper was sacked (15 rounds of matches): Palace 28 Brentford 21 Everton 21 West Ham 21 Man Utd 17 Spurs 14 Wolves 13 Ipswich 8 Leicester 7 Saints 5
On the mention of Cooper, I'd still be pretty happy if he turned up at Saints this summer. Will be happy with him or Rohl, not really sure at this point who else could be in the picture, realistically
Of my four man shortlist (Cooper, Rohl, Mowbray, Carrick), I don't for one minute expect the club to be interested in Mowbray. But I wouldn't be surprised if Carrick interests them.
