Gene Hackman found dead at home with his wife and dog. Brilliant actor, was brilliantly over the top as Lex Luther in Superman and really good in The Birdcage with Robin Williams. Strange circumstances surrounding his death though.

Gene Hackman dead at 95: Iconic actor and wife Betsy Arakawa are found dead at Santa Fe home https://mol.im/a/14442071 via https://dailym.ai/android

    RIP Gene.

Possibly my favourite actor. Brilliant in so many movies. One of those actors that you just knew would nail the role. Loved him.

No signs of foul play apparently. Makes me suspect carbon monoxide.

I was in the car this morning, and had talksport on. Sad news broke then Dean Saunders started joking on to Alan Brazil about how AI can detect cancer and he just has to "hold on", literally straight away.F**kin clown. Even Brazil had an air of "really"?

    Sad news, fine actor.

Always reminds me of Enemy of the State with Will Smith. A film I watched when I watched when young and thought it was proper ahead of it's time with the tracking and monitoring from governments etc.

One of my favourites! I was a kid when Superman came out and loved him in that. And, as mentioned above, Enemy of the state, superb.

    Rest in peace

Even as an old man he always looked like he could handle himself. Like he could still throw a mean punch. He was as hard as nails in Mississippi Burning.

RIP Gene Hackman. A really quality actor with some brilliant performances in his career. The French Connection, Superman, Mississippi Burning, The Conversation, Unforgiven, Absolute Power, No Way Out. And his comic turn in Young Frankenstein was definitely underrated (he adlibbed the line about making espresso and it went down so well, they kept it in the movie).
    RIP

Sad and does sound very strange. Also can't believe his age. Great actor. Loved French Connection, Mississippi Burning, Crimson Tide. Infact anything he was in is worth watching.
