Was looking to treat myself...there are currently bucket loads of tickets available all over the stadium...so I went to buy one and the cheapest available for an adult is £82 ... seriously????? **** right off The cup game against them was a sell out and ALL tickets were £35.
Suffering from insomnia so checked out how many tickets were available...well over 5000. Mostly from season ticket holders who can't go but are unable to sell them. The idea that the club can just name their price and they will fill the ground out may sound good and may be possible if you are a successful team but when they need the support when we are struggling those hugely expensive tickets don't look to appealing to tourists but remain unaffordable to a majority of fans. But I must hold my hands up ... the cheapest adult tickets weren't £80 plus ... I found a half a dozen for £75 ... ... insomnia is such a bastard
Yep, this applies to me this week. My mate’s dad usually takes my ticket but he’s unable to go midweek games. I’ve had it on exchange for about 3 weeks but at £84 it’s no surprise no one wants to buy it on a Wednesday night. I actually have two tickets available for this one funnily enough (seated together) as my Mum and Uncle share one between them but neither are able to go tonight either. If yourself or anyone wants to make an offer for one or both feel free to shoot me a message. I’d rather get something than nothing and I know they would too. If any of the tickets do sell late on I’ll update this post accordingly
Hopefully unchanged starting 11. Will require regular updates tonight as I am slumming it in Tenerife this week so will be following on here beer in hand. So there will be none of my razor sharp analysis tonight
The chat on the ticket prices is interesting. To avoid PR mockery like the 'red seats at night' that was seen at the Library over the past decade, is it not better to allow a drop the prices to get the rcls on ST holder seats (when the DHs are willing to take the hit on not getting their money back) , and have a full house cheering the team on ??
Much easier to get tickets now the week or so before the game once season tickets have gone on the exchange than actually trying to work out how to join the queue so you’re not 20,000th when released on member sale. Would love to have gone tonight but like others have said, it’s very high prices. I know it’s standard and if it wasn’t midweek I’m sure there’d be much more takers. Appreciate why they can’t as assume ST holders would lose out but maybe some kind of more flexible pricing rather than hard cat A, B, C etc and I’m sure ST holders on the exchange would rather get something for their seat than nothing. Big game anyway, need to start trying to reel the teams above us in. Getting so condensed from 3rd down that European places still look quite open if we can continue our good results.
For big home games - and I say this one for us now is huge - you need big attendances with the most vociferous make-up of crowd you can get. If that means dropping the ticket price significantly to fill those seats is a no-brainer. Empty seats and a stadium where the opposition can hear their own supporters more than yours is a feckin' recipe for failure.
I’m all for it though tbh. Three key players rested/ benched with a week to face Alkmaar, I’ve said already that we should go full strength for Europa and rotate in the Prem when games are around it.
Odobert looked a good prospect before his injury and has looked bright since. I think if he can develop a good relationship with Udogie and Spence down that wing then he could be a real plus. Hopefully that's starts tonight!!
There's some serious pace in that front line that (if it clicks) can cause City all sorts of problems on the counter. Resting Kulusevski, Son and Spence is extremely wise.
