There's talk that Tamas Kadar could be called into the first team for the Norwich game due to our injury crisis. This seems a bit desperate and embarrassing for Pardew to totally alienate a player to the point he doesnt have a squad number (Rob Lee anyone); to throwing him straight into the first team and expect a performance from him.

Why Pardew has chosen to alienate him when we quite clearly needed a 4th CB as cover for the first team is baffling. Not to mention the kid is a highly rated youngster and full international.

Pardew has been awesome with the first team this season, but I seriously question his handling of a squad. Santon hasn't had a sniff this season. HBA is still not fully match fit which is ridiculous seeing as we are in December. Marveaux had next to no Premier League game time but then got thrown in from the start and broke down, now out for 3 month. Dan Gosling hasn't had any game time to be proud of this season, anyone know why? Its a miracle Guthrie has been as impressive as he has, but even he has a niggling groin injury. Cabaye has a niggling groin injury also. Tiote's injury is unfortunate.

Pardew has been asking for trouble with the number of players in specific positions before the transfer window closed (Full back, Centre back) and with not giving fringe players any game time to gain fitness and confidence; and now he has got it.

There's more to managing a football team then picking the best XI every week.

I've been concerened for the last few months about him choosing Perch, persisting with Raylor at left back and favourtism towards Obertan, however I'm sure we can win at Norwich whatever side he picks. I think January will see another stage in our regeneration of players and Pardew is doing brialliantly thus far so unless he totally ****s it up he can do what he likes.

We didn't lose a match in the first eleven and were third in the league?

Regarding Kadar, there's a big difference between a player who'd been a key part of the squad for years and on the fringes of the England team and a youth backup player. Young players often get their numbers mid season as required, Sammy did last year and possibly Ferguson too?

The question of whether he can manage a squad is a valid one, but can only be answered after he's played some games with it, not before.

Not entierly sure about the circumstances surrounding Kadar's no number thing. He has been out on loan and injured so that could be a reason. he is captain of the reserves (I think?) so surely he can't feel to left out of the clubs plans.

    The rest is a bit harsh on Pardew;

"Santon hasn't had a sniff this season" - He's young and learning a new language. Also he's been trying to get into a back four that although has weaknesses, hasn't conceded much. Dropping anyone would have probably did more damage than Santon not getting many matches (baring in mind we aren't even half way through the season yet) so early in his Newcastle career.

"HBA is still not fully match fit which is ridiculous seeing as we are in December" - He certainly hasn't been as exceptional as the one time he was for us against Everton last season, but he's definately getting there showing glimpses of class in most of the games he's played. Prior to this he's missed so much football I think it's acceptable to expect him not to be back to his best til after the new year.

"Marveaux had next to no Premier League game time but then got thrown in from the start and broke down, now out for 3 month." - Don't you think this is very contradictory of your argument for Santon?

"Dan Gosling hasn't had any game time to be proud of this season, anyone know why?" Cabaye, Tiote and Guthrie have been class.

Obertan was part of a team that went over 10 games unbeaten in the league, as was Raylor. Why drop players from a team that understands how each other play just to accommodate players who need time on the pitch? Every player will get a chance over the season.

I think that this is very harsh.

Pardew has been reluctant to change a winning team and our points tally and league position suggest that he is right. Players know that they have to be patient if the team is doing well, but it is a long hard season and they will get their chance at some stage.
Pardew is with these lads every day and may have felt that Santon is not quite ready for the hussle and bussle of the Premiership.

The fact is that if we lose at Norwich Pardew will get analised for picking certain players and if we win he's a hero.

The first team is the squad though. We have the youth ranks, reserves and the first team.

Santon could easily had been drifted in gradually in certain games. Not starting that one again. You dont have to start with a changed XI to play players. Thats why we have 3 subs.

HBA shud be a lot sharper at this stage in the season then he is. Its not like Obertan has been unbelievable this season by any means, but thats right I forgot, HBA cant play right wing.

On Marveaux once again I was talking bringing him in gradually. He went from one extreme, to the other. He then broke down. Guthrie was the same, im just glad his injury is only a niggle.

Gosling should definetly had more minutes this season. Tiote has been out for a long time. Cabaye has had a niggle for ages, Guthrie has had a niggle. Resting these players a bit more and bringing in Gosling isnt that difficult or a huge risk.........does he want Cabaye and Guthrie to break down next? They look f*cked after 70 mins.

All of my 'questions' are totally based on squad management. Specifically substitutions and when and who to use. First XI Pardew has been spot on more or less. His Subs have left me scratching my head all season. Even when we were getting results.

It's Pardew's fault that players have been injured?

    First XI, then.

Nice comment though. You picked the bones out of the OP on that one.

Can't complain about the way he's got the team playing or the spirit within the team.

No not entirely. Tiote is unfortunate, like I said. Cabaye has ran himself ragged. A bit more rest for him wouldnt go a miss. Guthrie has done unbelievably well, but has picked up a groin niggle.

Basically Gosling is crying out to play more; where as Cabaye and Guthrie are being 'over' used. Its all about squad management.

Play 'em til they drop seems to be Pardew's mentality....and starving others in the process. Its not good.
