I wasn't able to see any of the 4-1 defeat to Spurs, but highlights backed up what people were saying on here. Namely - a strong opening 10 minutes where we should've taken our chances, some poor defending (particularly from Godfrey), and the class and squad depth from Spurs ultimately winning out.

It may well be a similar story for the mid-week trip to Old Trafford. Manchester United are not a club in form, and Amorim's trouble implementing his tactics and style of play on this United squad is possibly proving too tough a challenge. But in terms of player quality and experience - they will put out a stronger team than we can.

There's a chance for us to claim an upset here - our away form is weirdly better than our home form. Maybe where the expectations are lower and we have more gaps to counter attack. But we just don't quite have the consistency, quality, depth, or ruthlessness to get points on the board.

At this stage of the season, the bottom three clubs are all promoted sides and - between us - we have two fewer wins and a few points worse off than the combined Burnley, Luton, and Sheffield United teams at the same stage of the season. Last season's trio was widely considered to be among the worst three relegated sides in a Premier League season. A repeat occurrence would rightly question whether the Premier League's financial model provides the best entertainment for fans as the unpredictability factor gets weakened and the same 17 teams from recent years benefit from another injection of Premier League riches to further distance themselves from the next three promoted sides.

As for the prediction, I think Man United will win this 2-1.

    Good intro Nuggets.
I fear you are right and I will refrain from being the eternal optimist.

    2-1

Not a prediction but I think Townsend deserves to start over Leif as he is better defensively

Can also see Hirst starting, like at Brentford

I would like to try Leif ahead of Townsend, so he can go on his fine forays forward, and knowing his back is covered. Leif is not a defender in mind body or spirit! We have missed his accurate crosses.

We need a win but will probably do well to get a draw......1-1.

I am gonna change my mind. Not just because Wolves slipped up last night but the sentimentalist and uber positive in me says we can still do a Houdini escape!

Anyone else remember the 1984 season, we were doomed. But we beat Man U at Old Trafford, and then went on an amazing run and won many games to stay up!

I’d prefer to be an optimist, especially with the joy rides with Ipswich. Than die in a few yrs time, with a scarf and badge please, being a pessimist wondering what might have been. Live for the day, we will get something.

2- 1 Ipswich another 3 pts to freedom.

He's sticking with Clarke and Billie Jean...
Thought Billie Jean had a decent game on Saturday, but not Clarke...time for the boys to step up.
3-3 draw, delap, Billie Jean and sammie off the bench

I feel if we start how we did last game, and score early we can go on to win this.
