Our lack of goals is killing us.

Select your top three, in order.

Hughes. Solid game winning all tackles, headers and passed forward well.

Puerta. Quality on the ball and drove forward when on the ball.

Alzate. Should have started…. Linked play far better

Awful first half, no positivity & far too slow going forward, lack of quality up front we looked like a bottom of the table side.

Matazo loss summed up our season injuries luck. Puerta started well controlling possession. Stupid foul by Slater leading to goal. Subs changed the urgency of our attacking play significantly but…. Only one header and no shots to save!
Our attitude and performance against crap teams….. is crap! Frustrating

Geldhart. Probably the pick of the 'forwards' but nothing special
Hughes. Solid game, one bad pass, but overall along with Jones and Macca until he went off, didn't do a lot wrong.
Peurta. Thought he should have started with Alzate.

    ...
Decent first half without creating anything, but neither did Cardiff. Second half, one mistake by Slater, then a foul by Slater from the mistake led to a dangerous freekick. Panda made a meal of the save pushing it for a corner when he could have just as easily have caught the ball, corner led to the goal and a deflection......off Slater. Game over.
We looked leggy and devoid of any threat up front.
Harsh to blame the team selection but the result shows maybe Selle picked the wrong starting eleven?
Looks as though he still doesnt know his best team?
So a very frustrating night all round and a damaging defeat plus we lost our best player, Matazo, to a worrying injury.
We MUST start winning points at home starting next Tuesday.
    ....

Lethargic display. Another opportunity missed as we love to do it the hard way .
Gelhardt - tried hard to create.
Puerta - showed some energy .
Alzate - we missed him , especially when Matazo got injured .
    Another 12 cup finals

Puerta - Tried to drive us forward.

Kamara - Ridiculous comments about him on the match thread. Created our best chance and looked dangerous when he came on.

Gelhardt - The only other player who posed any kind of threat.

Tonight the blames on the manager for me. Wrong team selection and negative tactics, came for a draw and got what we deserved.

Some good performances individually I thought, but we had too many passengers tonight.

1 - Gelhardt - kept getting us going on the front foot
2 - Puerta - kept driving us forwards and made the right pass usually
3 - Joseph - caused them problems time and again but unfortunately in a very isolated role

    Positives...

I thought Macca played well in feeding Gelhardt.

Hughes looked decent enough for a young lad, aside from the odd error.

Matazo looked on track for another MOTM before he went down. We're going to need to pray it's not a bad injury but it didn't look good.

Kamara looked a threat when he came on.

Amrabat, I thought had the drive but the execution went wrong (though he's not had many minutes yet to be fair).

Don't think Pandur did much wrong tonight to be honest. He didn't catch the free kick, but he did save it. The team should have dealt with the afters.

Pedro came close to scoring but like Joseph, didn't get the support.

I thought Lincoln looked lively and I appreciate his defensive work which he's very willing to do.

We had too many passengers tonight however.

I thought Slater had an alright enough game aside from the mistake(s) which lead to their goal. He can advance with the ball at his feet and he can put himself about. If we restrict his jobs to those two things then he's a good player for us and he had some decent moments tonight, which unfortunately are probably overshadowed by the fact we lost that game in that manner.

Crooks frustrated me. He wasn't in the first half at all and then was on a different wavelength when it mattered in the second.

Jones had a bad night. Caught out of position a couple of times and his passing was tripe.

Coyle really frustrated me tonight. He wouldn't progress the ball until it was far too late in the game and he was way off their winger numerous times. God knows how much of that game we wasted 'hitting reset' at every opportunity. Stifles our whole game when we only attack down one side or through the middle.

Quality first touch, turned his man well. Very rarely gives the ball away and offered a threat.

    Hughes
Defended immaculately. Doesn’t look like he’ll get done for pace. Read the game well, won every header, stepped in when needed & retained the ball well.

    Puerta
Always showed for the ball, looked to be positive when he received it. Drove through their midfield on a number of occasions.

shout out for Kamara who got pelters from some quarters on the mdt. To me he looked like the only player who might create something if only the rest had kept up...
