He will go for free 12 months later then. We are out of time on this one. We refused forest who were the only bidders at 15. Why would anyone pay more
Ignoring your blip Macca had a release so we cannot use him and ignore that caicedo set a massive precedent for Brighton Their fans rate their new lad just as high.
So Trent has verbally agreed a 4 year deal with Real, announcement delayed 'out of respect' () say Real because the two could yet face each other in the CL.
The good news is, England fans are going to be calling him a world-class left back now. Shame he's going (and he is going, even if this story isn't true), but I think he probably saw himself as more important than Liverpool does. Good luck on your travels Trent, I appreciate all you did for the club. That said, I'm honestly not that concerned, his passing and range is second to none, but for a full back playing as a full back, he has already been replaced. I will miss Salah or VVD more if they go.
I get too attached to players. There are several exceptions - oddly enough, I wasn't that fussed when Lallana left. If Trent does leave, he will have a hard time winning over the Real fans who won't be as forgiving as us Liverpool fans. He won't be leaving behind a legacy which is a shame for a local lad. Salah and Virgil have already cemented theirs.
Trent has a legacy but it will be destroyed. Macmanaman had a quasi legacy despite us simply not being successful, we were almost but never quite and the second he left he got medals nobody at home cared about and he's not given the time of day. Trent had won everything and has his legendary moment v barca. (Shared with origi) By going to real he will find his mural painted over and his face largely erased as fast as hendersons was. If he thinks anyone is going to fawn over him or he can pat the badge in celebration for us then leave and be forgiven he has another think coming. I've not even been bothered to give him his new name. Benedict Arnold was a traitor to the Americans and fled to the British side the the revolutionary war. I think it's an entirely appropriate nickname for pur right full should it be proven true. I am sure the club will come out with the usual lies and blame game to cover themselves but thry really don't need to. Benedict has outed himself with rubbish about balon d'or and first and second half to carrer and such. We all know he.could be offered the sun and moon and still not sgin but we simply don't know what we have offered if anything
I don’t blame Trent for wanting the move that his ego deserves. Reality is that he is half of a world class footballer. The other half is Championship. I hope that he can make it work at Real, I don’t wish him anything other than success but I fear that he will be found out defensively.
You can't fail at Real Madrid. Hang around and you'll get trophies. He might be benched, he might be repositioned, but he'll get trophies. On the wages he will be on, it will be hard for him to move after Madrid if they do want to move him on- not without a paycut again... We may see him back at Anfield one day, and if we do, I hope the fans will welcome him.
id not have him back. He’ll be slower and lazier. He is a weapon in our team and not a defensive one….he’ll get plenty of assists in Madrid but he will get found out regularly. I still scream at the TV when he fails to block every single cross or jogs back into position instead of sprints….but I (reluctantly) accept that as part of his game. The Madrid crowd will be more demanding. Ask Gareth Bale! He could be a revelation. I hope, for him, it’s the latter but if it isn’t, I won’t want him back.
If Trent leaves he won’t be back and truthfully I wouldn’t want him back because the one thing that lets him down is his defending, regardless of his passing ability.
I think he has a legacy irrelevant of what happens. He's played alongside VVD and Salah to win the same trophies they have so why treat him differently? Only two differences; he's younger and he's a local lad.
BREAKING: Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes are believed to have identified Flamengo’s talented right-back Wesley Franca as the heir to Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield. And per the report, a deal to bring the player to Anfield is expected to cost Liverpool in the region of £25m (€30m, $31.6m).
He isn't as good as either of them though. And there are plenty of others who have played alongside them who won't have legendary status either. I'm not taking the 'ump with him because he's leaving, I've been resigned to it for a long time, but I've also said for a long time that I don't think he's as good as he thinks he is. Great going forward, average and too often lazy in defence.
He isn't as good as them but you can't hold that against him. If the only players to leave as legacy have to be as good as VVD and Salah, there isn't going to be many legacies at the club You could question is effort though tbf
Can't be true, that would require Hughes to actually do something. We all know he just sits in his big office playing Candy Crush all day.
