Fleetwood will not roll over for us, they are 14th we are 19th, but I'm hopefully and trust in the new gaffer to sort out our scoring boots... Gills 2-0 Fleetwood (Gbode, Nevitt)
Not sure I am seeing what all you others are seeing. I think we have been poor, to say the least, except for the Walsall match, you will never know how many times I pinched myself, and stuck a needle in my toe, to make sure I was alive and watching The Gills. I hoped it was a turning point ???? but sadly not. 15 games to go and only 9 points from relegation. Fortunately, Morcombe, Stanley, Tranmere and Harrogate keep losing, long may they. The gap for the play-offs is now getting wider and as we are 17 points away from that zone, I feel our season has finished. I just hope we are still in Div 2 at the end and have a team to support next season. If we drop out of league football it certainly will be the end of GFC and Priestfield will just be the name of the cul-de-sac leading to a large group of high-rise flats. Fleetwood has hit a sticky patch, but only 11 points from the playoffs, so they will not be an easy touch. This is only the 19th game between these two teams and The Gills have only won 4 of them and lost 8, so sadly not looking good. I will continue to watch as I have a large fridge full of large cans of beer and 5-liter cartons of wine, which helps me see through rose-tinted glasses and numbs the pain. I want to thank all of those who traveled last weekend ( 470 ) and all those who will pay to go through the turnstile tomorrow evening. But I can only see defeat
We have been better last 3 games and especially last 2 could and should of had 2 pens + goal was harshly ruled out. Haven't said that we are no way good enough to challenge for play offs which ended weeks ago. We are also fortunate that only 2 teams go down.
So true, as I mentioned we are very lucky at present that the teams below are losing. We have been drawing a win and those extra 2 points will make a big difference
We've run around a lot more but haven't actually looked like beating any team. The fact we couldn't beat a team rock bottom of the EFL Saturday just gone and now have the worst start to any permanent Gills manager (even worse than Pennock's) doesn't exactly fill me with any confidence.
