That loss ended a 4 game winning streak for them, and opened up a 5 point gap between them and Leeds. They'll be frustrated they weren't able to close the gap and overtake Leeds at the top of the table, and if I'm honest, that possible frustration is the only thing that gives me much hope in this game. Their top scorer is Gustavo Hamer, with 7 goals, followed by Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Tyrese Campbell with 6 each. As for us, 14th, 7 points from the playoffs, which is unlikely to happen this year, but happily 14 points from 22nd, and we must remember most of us would have jumped at the offer of being in this position at the end of October. Our top scorer is Michael Frey with 6, followed by Jimmy Dunne with 5 then Kolli with 4 and Field with 3. When he was signed, I think many of us hoped Celer would be top of that list by now, but him being slow to get started, then the injury, have ruled him out. Disappointing, but hopefully an indication we have the potential to score more next season. Maybe I'm just too optimistic. What was the upshot of all that? Did rather look as though Sheffield United cheated to get the game abandoned. Considering they were the aggressors and, on the tv highlights at least, West Brom didn't put a foot wrong or lay a glove on them. Yet they went down one by one with life shortening injuries to the point where the ref had no option but to call it off. It's clear that Curle should have been sent off as well. He certainly played for it. Battle? Doesn't it take two sides to have a battle. So glad they lost last night to Leeds, Vastly overrated side.
Awarded a 3-0 win and a reasonably small fine for Sheff U. Santos and the other bloke sent off didn’t play again. West Brom went up but imagine if they’d missed out by a goal. Megson was a boring old prick anyway.

This is the first game post-birthday so as I had some time to kill I’ve looked at our league results either on or the first game after my birthday. An unexciting 10 wins, 14 draws and 11 defeats but it means we’ll win to provide some symmetry. Life started with two wins but this preceded a run of 13 games without a win through the 90s and early 00s. And how many QPR fans can say they were born the day of an FA cup win?
