i get that, i just mean winning is enjoyable as it gets you closer to rewards, but then people say they dont want the rewards that comes with it, i dont see why winning is enjoyable then . if anything you shouldnt enjoy the win as it risks the reward you dont want..
Agree with this I also understand the mentality of once promoted expecting to come back down but with the hope uou have a better squad to go straight back up and make a better go of it the second time
Thing is they were never actually that good on a squad level even in the Championship were they? Like a few teams over the years, they found a formula that clicked and built up loads of momentum and got promoted. But their wage bill will have been bottom end of the division. They went up and came down and haven't really spent much money on players off the back of that, so they're back were they were - a bottom end championship club - minus the momentum they had.
All bankrolled to a ridiculous degree tho And with the rules now not sure a rich owner can bankroll it even if they wanted to They’re making it a closed shop by stealth It’s stopping Newcastle pushing on not been able to spend what they want to
For any nerds. A bloke has been running simulations every week. He runs 10,000 of them and currently has us as a 12% chance to go down. Cardiff are at 22%, Plymouth at 77%, Derby at 81% and Luton at 87%. I do think the points needed is going to be about 46-48. Win the 4 home games vs the rest of the teams around us and we will be safe
life would be boring if we all had the same opinion, I have no desire to watch my team get beaten every week in the prem, would much rather be around the top 6 of the championship every year
Prior to 2008 we had spent more seasons at our current level than any other. All any fan wanted was to see us go up.
Im not arsed at all about being in the prem I think for me The dream would be for us to be fully self sustainable at championship level No billionaire **** ownership With 1 or 2 academy players coming through every couple seasons Probably not even realistic though
You're not going to be self sustaining in a league where owner dependency is the norm unfortunately. People were using Luton as an example of it a couple of years ago. Not anymore they're not.
Indeed it would be, but why do you want us to be around the top 6? I want to be around the top 6 too , cos it means we might get up , do you want to be around the top 6 but lose on last day to finish 7th? I’m not been funny , I just find it confusing , had same debate with many people over the years and probably will many more times , and I just can’t get my head round it that’s all
yeah basically enjoy winning most games but don’t worry about our league position, take each game in isolation
Bournemouth stayed up for 5/seasons before being relegated, 2 seasons in the Championship and back up again. They have a wealthy group behind them now. Best way is go up, come down and use the money on training facilities like Burnley and Norwich did.
Thats what pisses me off a bit What sort of legacy have we had from the prem seasons and all the money that it comes with?
