Booing really is pathetic, I just hope that these so called supporters don’t manage to drive the management to move on, fans seemed only too happy to ‘trust the process’ whilst it was all wine and roses.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. There were some boos near where I am (SBR lower) directed towards the team. Quickly drowned out by the majority but definitely there
Are you sure it was directed at the players? They battled for every ball and showed a lot of quality even when the game was getting away from us.
From my perspective, almost everyone was getting at the referee but at the end of the game, there seemed to be boos (by very much the minority ) directed at the team. These were quickly drowned out by applause for what was a decent performance - especially 1st half. I think the minority have a sense of entitlement and thought we would be finishing mid table this season and they can’t handle the reality of our situation
Absolutely bonkers. These can’t be any of the same people that watched us lose at Barrow a few years ago!
MM was at the match yesterday if we need reminding of the dark days of s#*t football. These Johnny-come-latelys don't know their born!
We are paying the price for our rapid rise up the football ladder, we haven't had the time in the Championship to strengthen the squad over 2 or 3 seasons to compete in the Prem not that it's any consolation but Southampton and Leicester even with parachute payments are struggling as well, what other Prem team has players who turned out for them in Lg1 in their squad ? Also our signings have been in some cases unsuccessful so far, Clarke, Philogene, and Muric look anything but Prem players plus injuries haven't helped either. As far as relegation goes if it happens it was a case of too far too soon but at least we will have a better more experienced squad to compete with providing we can keep our better players, but whatever happens I will be there.
Not about the game itself but where are the ITFC highlights? Sky sports highlights start with the spurs goal - completely ignoring our chances in the 1st 10 minutes. Had to watch the spurs highlights to see any of our chances
Yeah, Match of the Day highlights are better as they actually show more of the match (or it feels like they do) and they don’t seem to be pressured to show more of the big clubs - which I typically find the Sky highlights slant towards.
In the cold light of day, I think we are still a fair way from having a complete XI that is up to competing in the Premier League. To really compete players should be able to have off days and make odd mistakes without costing us a place in the division. Most of the goals we concede have more than one point of failure. The emphasis has been on adding depth at the expense of a strong first XI. In the summer we are going to have to build a new midfield from scratch, sign a pair of full backs and fill any new gaps left by players moving out.
Match of the day punditry by numbers: They played between the lines = good football team. They didn’t play between the lines = bad football team.
We could have been 3 goals up after 10 minutes but didn't take any of those chances and I couldn't help thinking that most of the other Clubs in the division would have scored at least 1 of those chances and soon after we go 2 goals down, then Hutch scores a very good goal and we are pressing hard for an equaliser but after Woolfys header is disallowed the quality we are up against takes charge and the game goes away from us. So lots of lessons to be learned for the rest of this season but I feel time is against us.
