I guarantee if you were to walk into The Tavern in Concord at 09.00 on any morning of the week and offered the 20 or 30 dossers a job you wouldnt see them for dust, you could also try spoons or The Middle Inn, they are all professional work avoiders. Granted a sprinkling of retired people but mainly benefit bums, like smug alluded to its about pride and upbringing, some of them come from good working class backgrounds but havent got a days work in them, some have no self pride and only care about where their next pint or smoke comes from. Some of them are having 2 or 3 holidays a year, it boils my blood, the benefit system needs a massive overhaul, get investigators into the pubs and clubs up and down the country to weed these workshy scroungers out, could save the country billions.

I’m in the same category as Jimmy left school at 14 with no qualifications and worked my way up to managing around 10 + farms until I bought my own place with a mate. Now live in the Lakes near Cumbrian and really enjoy retirement.
Some of these people have had bad luck some are just bone idle and no matter what you do they will be bone idle piss heads.
I know I’ve tried to employ some of them.
    PS my parents were brilliant.

All of these people will be "on the sick" with bad backs, depression or some other undiagnosable "illness" living the life of Riley on good money, whilst those that have genuinely lost their jobs get tortured by the Jobcentre for a pittance. Mad world.

Not at all, I’m quite open about it.
Home life was fine. Or as fine as it could be being brought up by my grandparents.
The very much abridged version is that my dad is an only child (as am I and also my son). My grandparents always wanted more than one child. Born in Hertford where my parents were living I came along and due to mums PND it was suggested that I should live with them until mum got better. My dad, being fairly weak willed back then agreed. My grandparents never had any intention of returning me. They expected my parents to pay for everything and at the same time threatened them with legal action if they ever tried to get me back.
At around five or six years old I would regularly ask my parents if I could live with them but they would find excuses as to why I couldn’t. I guess I had subconsciously known that I was a bit different in that respect with friends and their families but I couldn’t articulate it. Bottom line is that I was kidnapped I suppose.
Anyway my school days were filled with just trying to please people rather than studying and that’s why I left school with nothing.
I wasn’t really supported in my education only told that I had to get exam results. I’m not blaming teachers here as ultimately I’m the one responsible but some of the teachers back then at the private school were just out and out bullies. And no one in the family stood up to them. As an example I was given detention every Tuesday after school for a whole term by one particular teacher yet no one actually asked the school why. So I was left feeling a bit unsupported and I just retreated into myself.
It wasn’t until I joined the army that I grew in confidence and realised that I’m a worthy person in my own right.
There’s a whole lot more to it but like I said, that’s the abridged version!
