Tuesday 25th 7:45pm Got to continue the good work in this one. a similar display will get all three points.
This won't be an easy game. Take it lightly and we could get turned over. 3 points against Sunlan has turned this from a "Must Win" into a "Must not lose" IMO. 1-1
I agree - but just don't think we can take this (or any) game lightly. According to some on here, Portsmouth, Derby, Oxford, Luton and Stoke (before our home game against them) were all shyte teams. We took a grand total of 2 points out of 15 from those games.
Obviously want a win But id be happy with a point too It keeps cardiff with us And we go 4 points clear We wont have the energy levels we did against sunderland, with the quick time between I still think we sneak a scrappy win though Cardiff are very hot or cold Never know which version will turn up
Agree. 4 points out of 6 would be a brilliant return from 2 games. I honestly thought we'd be well entrenched in the bottom 3 by the time we played Cardiff. I'm very happy to have been proven wrong ... and, take note muppets (you know who you are) this is called 'holding your hands up' again. However, I also think we can win this one.
Given up on predicting a starting 11, Selles clearly knows better than I do We can be good enough to win, it's away again, so let's have 3 points. On the other hand a draw wouldn't be the end of the world after the S'land result. UTT!
We have a tremendously good winning record at Cardiff, I think we can take yesterdays performance and kick on. I was impressed with Lincoln yesterday, there’s been a lot of guff about how he was a Acun vanity signing but he looked a strong runner with a secure touch, precisely the kind of player that works well in Ruben’s system. I hope he gets a start on Tuesday.
The regrading of this game from a must win to a must not lose and the happy with a point conceit mask the critical nature of what a win would achieve. It would not only give us a six point cushion over the relegation spots (5 if Luton win their game in hand) with all involved teams having played the same number of games) but would put us within two to four points of the three teams who'd be above us, drawing them back into the mix. Get a little run going and we could find ourselves up to 16th in three or four games time. Important game this: I'm regrading the regrade back to must win.
Absolutely this. The only way we're going to pull away from the mire is by stringing a few wins together. No better opportunity to do this than an away game at a ground we have a good record at, against a struggling side. Then Plymouth which really should be another win if we have any hopes of pulling clear, despite it being at home and ripe for a typical City charity scenario
Not the first time posting this. How quickly things can change. Not very long go it looked like two teams were getting cut adrift at the bottom and we were in a battle with 3 or 4 teams for the final relegation place. Now it looks like those bottom two have closed the gap, 1 or 2 of the 3 or 4 have broke away from the immediate danger leaving us in a very close battle with 4 or 5 others with all three relegationplaces up for grabs.
I'd still consider this a game we need to be winning, we need some breathing room and certainly don't want it going down to the last day of the season to secure survival.
We've showed when the mentality and commitment is right we can beat anyone, but those performances have usually been followed by disappointing efforts. If there is one thing Sellès needs to get into them it's making sure their commitment levels don't drop. If we have the same purpose and effort we'll be OK for the rest of the season, allow that to drop and we'll very easily be sucked back into the mire.
We’re going to lose to some of the teams around us during the run in, so we shouldn’t be taking the foot off the gas at any point before the end of the season. None of of this “I’ll take a draw” for me, thank you.
we showed yesterday in our performance at Sunderland we can really perform when we want to, I'd take a draw,im making the trip to Cardiff away on Tuesday
I can’t produce stats to prove it but my sense is that we lose momentum when we have long breaks between games. We now have four games in two weeks with no respite, I’m hoping that will be a run where we really get the momentum going.
