I missed this at the time. Is it true he took his gloves off before the photo and made them wait 5 minute while he slowly put them back on! Still pisses me off he wasn't booked for that!
Portsmouths second best left back who gets slated every single game because he can't defend his the top left back from their rankings? Interesting to note I suppose, shows there's more things to consider than just that.
Before the Luton game we hadn’t won by 2 goals since the Oxford game in October since that Oxford game we played 3 games at qpr (red card cost us), Preston (worst game of the season for me) and Coventry where we went 2 goals up looked dangerous they got a lucky goal back then we lost two key players and they scored late after that Watson stepped in for 3 tough games. A win a draw and a loss then he got injured so after that Oxford game we played 2 and a half games with Mundle and then Watson played for 3. Other than that we haven’t had a left winger and to be honest, a very key part of our system in Mundle / Watson. Aswell as midfield rotation, so I’m not surprised we haven’t killed teams off as much because Mundle and Watson are massive threats on the break for us, which the likes of AA, Le Fee and Mayenda out on the left weren’t / aren’t as much. I suspect getting Mundle back could be absolutely huge for more comfortable games for us
He has 4 goals so thatll boost his ranking The rankings are pretty accurate for most, as normally the top ranked players are players most of us would agree are the best in their positions Goals from defenders def boost their rankings I was surprised Morris was so high for Luton as he's been poor the games I've watched Neil has been climbing the ladder recently but on the eye test alone their isn't 7 CDMs better than him at the minute imo
I guess CDM is one of the harder positions to rate with data. Reading of the game, tactical awareness and the effectiveness of completed passes, for instance.
Yep, brownhill is top because he's scored a lot of goals Adams of Derby is 4th on the list I think as he has loads of interceptions It will look at accuracy of passes but not the type of passes played - Neil always seems to play more forward passes than most of his competitors in the CDM position Neil stats are probably better than Jobe's tbh, Jobe has 2 more G/As so thatll help Unsurprisingly both their stats are very impressive. They are the highest rated CM combo, ahead of the WBA duo then the Leeds 2
Yeah you really have to factor in watching them and not just the data, but for the most part they seem... ok
100% the eye test is always the most important thing and on current form I'm not picking another CM ahead of Neil and Jobe is the perfect compliment to him (i do like Hackney tho as that box to box CM)
Say hypothetically: Jobe, Rigg and Neil all left in the summer. I am curious how you would rebuild that midfield with specific players or just general physical/technical profiles. I think the balance right now is good between Neil and Jobe being able to play as a LCM and "DM" or as a midfield 2.
Who does everyone think will end up in the playoffs then? I think the top 2 will stay as is and it'll be us and Burnley plus another 2 and i'm going to take a wild swing at Coventry and Bristol City getting in. Coventry have a really good squad and Lampard is doing a great job currently and I think they ride that to the end of the season. Bristol City I feel like are going under the radar a bit, good at both ends of the pitch. I think Blackburn will fall away without Eustace unless they get the replacement spot on. WBA have a good chance but that squad is built for Corberans style and I don't think it has the attacking flair Mowbray needs. Sheff Wed and Norwich concede way too many goals, Watford are weird and Cleverley is never more than 3 defeats away from the sack, I don't trust Boro defensively and Carrick seems to be on the brink and QPR don't have enough going forward.
Tough to replace Jobe and Neil TBH, Browne would be fine for the odd game but we would need a presence in CM. I'm a fan of Sadilek at Twente, out of contract in the summer and a Czech international, very good player I would like Tyler Morton as a Neil replacement, just feel he would give us a different option with his ability on the ball
I have been surprised recently by how willing eredevisie players are to move to even League One sides and ****ty sides at this level. I always like what a physical presence adds and away from Jobe we don't seem to have anyone who can offer that.
Aitor Karanka, Valerien Ismael and Pep Lijnders linked with the Blackburn job. I know it didn't go well at Salzburg but I think Lijnders is the most interesting option there, great coach by all accounts. I think Ismaels style is too drastic to go for him mid season.
Can we boost Patterson’s rating so someone will buy him from us? free transport included from yours truly
Be lucky to get 5m for him at this stage, only get more for him for English tax. Give me a 6ft 3 Scandinavian monster that can command the box and play with his feet I beg.
Watford v Luton at 12pm Massive game for both sides Watford need a win for their play off push Luton bottom of the league and 5 points from safety!
