Team Mannion Ramsay, Jones Gillesphey Small Coventry, Anderson, Edwards Berry Campbell Godden Subs Reid, Watson, McIntyre, Gilbert, Aneke, Kanu, Leaburn
Fantastic win. Three teams on identical points for 5-7th place, and smaller clubs above us like Wrexham, Wycombe & Stockport starting to lose their bottle. All to play for.
Just got in, we were very professional. I would like to single out the Academy products. Anderson was excellent and covered every blade of grass. Campbell took his goal very well as did Leaburn. The acid test is Leyton Orient who are flying.
The most stress-free home win for a long time. Outstanding for me were Jones, Anderson, Campbell and mom Ramsay. The man is pure class, and the way he won the ball and passed to Leaburn for the goal was well above L1 standard. Mannion made one save, straight at him, all match, and we should have had 2 or 3 more.
Exeter at home is the sort of game you have to win. Good to see TC double his season’s goal tally this afternoon. Without putting a dampener on it - are we good enough to go up this season ? If you take Bowyer’s 2019 promotion side as the benchmark - clearly we are not. The big worry would be the epic p isstake a season in the Championship would undoubtedly turn into under Charlie Methven, but nevertheless it’s good that we have an exciting end to the season coming up. To paraphrase Neil Warnock, “let’s enjoy it, but let’s enjoy it by staying f ucking realistic”
There’s a big difference between being good enough to go up, and what comes next. Personally, I prefer to consider the latter. I don’t want to be travelling to the likes of Ipswich Town away in August with this group of players, and more particularly this CEO.
That first half was better than any first half I've seen this season. Maybe we need to kick towards the Covered End more often.
