EDIT: I’ve now “done the math” Games with McLean: 1.65 points per game Games without McLean: 0.8 ppg (0.6ppg prior to yesterday) Given that’s based on 23 games played and 11 games missed, that ought to be enough data to draw the conclusion he’s very important. Interestingly with McLean that’s still not good enough form for automatic promotion. But it would see us solidly in the playoffs on around 56 points. McLean’s six match ban has effectively cost around 5-6 points, which could well be enough to cost us a playoff position.

Looking at the highlights again it seems to have gone unnoticed that Sargent's stunning second goal was struck with his weaker left foot. "I was very happy with it. An unSargentlike goal in virtually all respects. In fact I can't recall any others I've seen him score from that distance outside the box. He and Sainz were having a good laugh together afterwards; I imagine Sarge had said something like "I'm coming for you Borja!"
