Coyle back to his old self Gelhardt never stopped and those corners were excellent Matazo again never stopped and had some lovely touches Could have been Alzate, Hughes anyone else really. Great performance.
Matazo. Seri like performance, only 10 years younger. Fabulous signing. If we'd have paid £10m for him he would have been a bargain. Alzate. Swaggering confident performance. Hughes. Great comeback game for the young lad. ... Tamed the Black Cats in their own back yard. Rock solid in defence and dangerous on the break and every player played a part. No-one took a backward step. Everyone left their mark in the tackle. Loved it. Very unlucky to have the second 'goal' chalked off for offside, perhaps the ref made amends by not giving the Lewie Coyle hand ball incident late on? Surprisingly, this win was every bit as big as the Sheffield United one but not as unexpected. Which means we are getting there at last. UTT.
Macca, Roberts must have been very much looking forward to today....now he's prob still trying to get out of Maccas pocket Matazo, I'd been critical of him last time out but his strength and determination were critical today Gelhardt, top player Liked what I saw of Lincoln too today and an improved game from Coyle....tho on another day he'd be getting pelters for giving a pen away
1 ... Matazo ... He will be a key player. 2 ... Coyle ... Bloody good solid game. 3 ... Gelhardt ... Great corners. Have everything. Good to have Hughes back. Hope his injury isn't serious. Barry was playing very well before he went of. Lincoln looks very promising. Great all-around team performance.
Matazo - superb all match Lincoln - great going forward and excellent tracking back to help Coyle in the second half Crooks - although this could be any of the other players
Matazo Gelhardt Macca Honourables for Pandur, Jones, Coyle, Hughes, Alzate, Crooks, Joseph, Barry and Lincoln. Pedro and Puerta didn't get chance to do much, though Puerta put in a stunning sliding tackle to relieve a bit of pressure at one point. Egan nearly ****ed everything up but looked alright after that.
Are great team effort . Here are my 3 . 1. Matazo - solid and robust , plenty of energy and looked to get forward to support the forwardline . 2. Alzate- again he was strong and composed . 3. Gelhardt - when he had the ball gave them problems , 2 great corners and a pest when defending . Well done boys Come on City
1. Matazo - he is the energiser bunny, looks a proper player 2. Coyle - nice to see him back to form 3. Gelhardt - slip a cheeky bid in for this lad, we need him. Tbf Hughes, Macca, Alzate and Jospeh deserve mentions as does Lincoln, but a great TEAM performance.
