It is good to say how good other teams are but not at the detriment of your own side and it's players, especially when they are half the age of players they come up against. I don't think I could inflate or situation if I tried. We're 4th in league and only teams with premier l league parachute payments are ahead of us. And out of those 3 teams only 1 have looked better than us on the pitch. We didn't get the results that maybe we deserved but we haven't looked out of place up against them. So if that's inflating or situation, I'll go with it
I do not think any of my posts before getting into this game specifically have made a comparison mate. Was just talking about Burnley vs Sheffield.
It is. Not sure what people were expecting. Some expect the top teams to falter and go out their way to show this. Easy and big win for Burnley. Fair play to them.
They also kept a clean sheet from Sheff Wed bad finishing. Burnley have been quality at the back , but their clean sheet wasn't all down to great defending tonight. They were comfortable winners in the end but had Sheff Wed taken those 3 clear cut chances in the first half it would have been a different game. Burnley aren't the quality team some are making out, then again I think for some it's more a case of stating how good them and Sheff Utd are compared to us. We don't even have a game on but some will still use it as an excuse to have a pop at the club
Some people never miss a chance, as others have said it's pathetic. We all know we're the underdogs here but any slip is absolutely pulled to pieces ... ... the lads I travelled with, for years, wouldn't have tolerated it. We're a bunch of young triers, in an ex-League One team, ffs get off their backs.
I agree with virtually all of your post but the harsh facts are that goals win games. I do not think that Burnley or Sheffield Utd are better than us but little things can make a difference. Let's just concentrate on doing our thing and see where we end up Still fancy us to be in the mix for 2nd place
Just noticed Boro have scored more than us, shame their defence is ****e They go to Stoke during the week, lose there and I think it’s season over
We've lost Cirkin, Ballard, Alese, Mepham, etc at various points this season yet our defence is better than everyone below us ... ... claiming it's 'poor' smacks of an agenda tbh. Our defence is so poor we've only lost 5 games this season, the team directly below us have lost 12.
How many seasons have we lost only five games by this stage ... ... to say that defence is poor is ridiculous tbh. Anyone who's watched Sunderland over the last 20 years knows exactly what a poor defence looks like
Not poor but not good enough for top 2. We ship too many goals. I like the players, but think there needs to be an adjustment to tighten up. To put some context to it. We have conceded 21 more goals that Burnley. We have conceded 10 more goals than Leeds. We have conceded 7 more goals than Sheffield United. So in comparison to the contenders for autos, which was my point, our defence has been poor. We have been on par (1 goal in it) with WBA and Blackburn, 2 teams who you wouldn't consider to be automatic contenders.
Good film that. Been a while since I watched it. The greatest trick the devil pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.
