Boro are in a bad run so I'm hopeful of 3 points.
I'm also hoping Armstrong continues his improvement.

win this it could be the stepping stone we need-we go sixth spot if we win tomorrow night.
Lose it and I think we can seriously forget playoffs.

We could have gone 6th when we played the Jacks and again when we played Cardiff.
It’s incredible (and says something about this league) that we are still only 1 win from the playoffs, despite only picking up 1 point from the last 2 games.

Think one of those games we would have gone 5th.

Over the last couple of weeks we went into several games where a win would consolidate a position in the top six of the table but as in many other seasons where that has been the case we blew it. I believe it was a match at Wolves that really showed how self destructive we can be when it suits our mood and if my memory (81 on March 3rd) serves me correctly I think we in front and the home crowd were booing their own players, but we went on to lose and that was our good chance of (automatic?) promotion was gone and downhill it was from there. Our form this season has been up and down and only the inconsistencies which are allowing last minute goals, blowing games that really count, failing to score on good chances and poor decisions both on the pitch and at the very top of the tree that make us almost appear like a team without a dedicated leader to take us there - wherever that may be!

Forgetting the three points we got against Stoke between those games?

The Wolves game that we could have gone second was in a December (not long after the Manure game) Its a bit like saying we was top in a September and saying we blew it. There was still half a season to go. What it did do was take away momentum but with so long of the season to go it was never certain to be up there. From memory we also struggled slightly over the Christmas games. Just we look back at that game for some reason as they were top.

We were doing well that season, and then Diedhiou coming back and changed our way of play. But up until we had returning players the current lot was at burnout already. Just could not work out why LJ tried changing the formula too much. But that in my opinion was his fault to a T, no small changes just rash changes. Yet here we are with someone who won’t change his way of playing.

If I’m thinking about the same Wolves game as you Inver, we were at home. We went 1-0 up through a rather dubious penalty - and Wolves went down to 10 men. We were 1-0 up v 10 men then inexplicably got caught on the break, overcommitting men (Flint) forward when all we needed to do was grind them down and hit THEM on the break. THAT was an LJ tactical error I’m afraid.
Then Frankie had a brain fart and suddenly it was 10 v 10 and we went on to lose.
That game was a defining moment of our season and the beginning of a slow decline in LJs tenure. We never regained our form again after that.

I remember that, I’m pretty sure Wolves scored from the resultant free kick after Frankie got sent off, they then went on to win the game, and our season then went on a steep decline.

If the atmospheres been anything like the last couple none.

Putting Diedhiou in totally changed it. from hi nrg to lo nrg.. Manning has changed things a bit theres less fannying on the ball at the back and will chuck it around the sides for Armstrong to run onto.

It’s been largely all downhill ever since
If we’d held on and won that Wolves game it could all have been so different
After that you could tell how badly it had affected the whole squad
We’d had really good momentum up until then

I really hope we give Tommy a decent reception and not listen to Tinnion's bitter comments.
Any player should decide his own future just like all of us in our chosen profession.

It's quite the curtain-raiser for the weekend's action on Friday night, with four teams vying for promotion to the Premier League all on show.
Play-off hopefuls Bristol City welcome Middlesbrough to Ashton Gate knowing victory would lift them into the top six above West Bromwich Albion before the Baggies play Oxford United on Saturday.
Four straight defeats for Boro has seen them slip to 11th, four points off the play-off places - a run which striker Tommy Conway, who returns to his old stomping ground, described as "frustrating".

BAD NEWS ........... CAN CITY OVERCOME A TEAM THAT HAS JUST LOST 4 GAMES ON THE BOUNCE??????????????????? ARE WE GOOD ENOUGH?
