Try HG Wells up top and he might work out how to get us back to 2013.
We'd probably end up with Morlocks though, knowing Saints

Mick Herron could get a whole Slow Horses novel out of our midfield.

Dick Francis would give us a run for our money or at least up the stakes

There's a schoolteacher in it called 'Gradgrind', so I think @milton archer might be onto something

It was written to quickly earn income in between writing Nicolas Nicklebury which was proving to take Dickens too long to complete. Starts off about education but then changes half way through to being about the industrial North. I found it really unsatisfactory but David Copperfield and Great Expectations are the best of his I have read. Never picked up Dickens again after Hard Times. I find that many great writers could churn out the odd duff book. This was Dicken's but at least not as bad as the worst Zola or Balzac.

    Hope this helps.

As we have strayed so far from the thread perhaps this football video can get it back on track.

I think that everyone expects the same result and , indeed, performance on Saturday. We played well for 20 mins last weekend yet even if we play well for the full 90, we always lose.
