They've been the better side but the opportunities have been there for us to exploit them and we haven't been clinical enough.

Pretty much disastrous. We stopped playing once we got a lead and retreated deep. It was a foul. He was megged and knew what he did. The clearance wasn't great but I really don't think on the replay he could have got it wider or behind. Poor goal. But again we are too deep and thats the first time villa got a near 3 on 1 over there and we are all too narrow and never stopping crosses. We've been getting bodies in front of the full back most of the time so really we've worked on it but the ball is still being let in. Thst time nobody is within a mile of the spare man. Yeah it's handball but it's miles back and never getting called back. We actually have the play if we want this title. We cannot keep just trying to hold a goal as we simply can't.
If Jota was on it we would be laughing oh and on a night when we see none of his passing range Trent is just a passenger at best .

Not really. What we need is to actually step up the park and play. We've gone far too deep and are leaving them with the ball. We invited this and got what we deserved big time.
Totally. We should have got in front in the first ten minutes, got a lead given to us, and then thought we could defend it for an hour. Villa deserve their lead. It was handball, but about four phases before their goal. Just incredible that we think we can play out a lead for an hour with this side. They think they're the 2019, 2020, or 2022 sides - they're not. By a long, long, stretch - they're just not.
Trent on that second was in position and didn't engage then half followed a run into the middle leaving the crosser out in his position completely free. Not sure following that run was the right call. He can see the massive overlap.just then ignores it.
We could do with a quicker player than Jones on the left though. The only time we've had any joy that side of the pitch is when Jota has drifted there.
