I have a picture in mind of a man playing Jacks, a slack handful of numbered pieces and based on that he selects his starting 11 and the subs he makes.

Don't S'lnd play Leeds tonight? Lets hope Leeds go head hunting. Still a disappointing defeat on the road. Look towards Cardiff as a 6 pointer.

Yep. And Luton v Plymouth on Wednesday.
Hoping in both matches there are a few red cards, a few season ending (but not career ending coz I'm not that unkind) injuries, and exhausted players.

Obviously they are firm favourites however I think it will be a more open game than Burnley. It’s all on the day, will we take any chances that come our way? and can we hold out against a good Sunderland side? We need to be putting in a big performance to get anything out of this one.

We need to take care of their French loan player Le Fee. Despite his name he ain’t no fairy, he’s a right player. Hopefully he gets crocked this evening!

Perfect outcome for us tonight. Sunderland put in a massive shift only to have their hearts broken at the end.

Realistically out of the race for the top 2 but nailed on for play-offs. They’ll be tired and deflated. O’Nien looked to have picked up an injury at the end.

    Scrappy 0-0 incoming.

The mad thing is. With 2 new full backs and Hughes back, that’s a team that should be firmly entrenched in the play of places. With good depth in midfield and up front on the bench. I think if we can get out of this mess, then there’s reason to see promise in next season.

As much as I'd like to see Puerta playing I think we'll start the same as last time. If it means we're heading towards a settled starting 11 I'd be just as happy with that.

Would still need a proper goal scorer. Pedro is great but he's never going to get that many and age isn't on his side

True, but would need more than just 'a' proper goal scorer.
Nobody we bring in is a proper goal scorer (done it again with Burstow and more recently Joseph). It wouldn't be so bad if we had plenty of goals from elsewhere across the team but we don't.

A 'proper' goal scorer would struggle in our set up, working alone up top and with minimal service. I'd like to see midfield goal scorers getting ahead of a central forward given our system demands they work hard and often have to come deep to help regain or keep possession. Crooks with his goal against Norwich a great example.

We are clearly missing our two preferred proven wingers given our set up, both being at face value goal scorers as well as providing better service.
