I’d be surprised if Forest finished top 6, but take your point. The key word I suppose in my statement is “sustained” yes there are examples of teams competing in the top 6 or whatever for a period of time (3 or 4 years in some cases) but so far all of them have been picked apart and eventually get recruitment wrong and fall down the league. See Swansea, us, Leicester for recent examples.

Time will tell with the likes of the teams you’ve listed, but I doubt any of them make the top 6 and would’nt be surprised to see Bournemouth especially lose a number of players in the next transfer window/couple of seasons.

Someone mentioned it before but Utd have been **** now for a decade or more but players playing for any of those teams listed would immediately want to join them if they showed any interest.

The revenue of the big teams means they can continually spunk money up the wall until they get it right (see Utd again) and it will take a generation or more of them being **** for their fanbase to decrease enough for the revenue streams to drop even if a lot of their fanbase are fair weather type fans who may switch to whoever is doing well at the time.

City’s fanbase is still miniscule compared to Utd and they’ve been comfortably the better side for a decade, it takes ages for these switches to happen, and a smaller club sustaining themselves at the top of the table for the amount of time required is, imo, impossible in the current football climate

That’s fair, I do hear your point on the sustained competing, the Prem is so much less predictable than it’s ever been and it’s bound to fluctuate year on year.

Just look at City this season ay, only bought 1 player in the summer, had a few injuries and now even they’re not guaranteed a top 4 place this season. Liverpool are about to lose core players this summer or next and if they don’t get it right they could be right down where Tottenham & United are in a couple seasons like they were before Klopp. Chelsea been struggling for years too.

Its kinda crazy to say, but I honestly think there is as much on opportunity for smaller teams to do well as there is to completely fail, but the only thing in the way is having to either break the bank / PSR rules (Forest / Newcastle / Villa) or work absolute miracles with recruitment (Brighton / Brentford / Bournemouth) and if you nail both then you’re odds on to get top 6 for at least a season or two. As you say prolonging it is the hard part & I think that goes for any team, even the “big 6”.

It helps to have half of Asia buying shirts and tickets you need a lot of away games to qualify for. Yes you Manure.

When I voted for AN Other, Juric was not what I had in mind, yesterdays team seleection made no sense whatever and was worse than any RM XI. There has been very little improvement, not helped by a squad unfit for the Championship, let alone the Premier League. The Window was wasted, we should have at least pulled in some short term, stop gap players, particularly a striker and with the injury crisis a reasonable Centre back? The Season is effectively over already.

His post match pressers are just bizarre. He does realise that the fixtures aren't played behind closed doors? We can actually see. As deluded as Mad Nate

I am actually starting to worry about next season now if this guy is in charge. Haven’t seen any real sustained improvement. Flashes yes but no consistency.

    Croatian Nathan jones.
Tbf he added some aggression for a couple of games, but tactically he is awful.

We have terrible centre backs and no midfield, so why does he insist on this ****e 5 at the back formation?

Another stubborn dinosaur that can’t utilise the squad. Where do they keep finding these cretins?

When you have such an awful squad you have to set the team up to give them a chance and he simply isn’t doing that

Yeah, I’m starting to have concerns about him being in charge next season. Why try and be clever with your team selections when you’re in last chance saloon?
Strange subs on a regular basis and players played out of position all the time. And still waiting for this heavy metal football. We still sit of players week after week, which again lead to their first goal today. I know he has a **** show of a squad, but very little improvement or encouraging signs imho.

Not really. We managed to draw the 2nd half. Besides, where was the aggression, stealing the ball and controlling the match in any of the other games he's been in charge for?

But we did all that in the 2nd half. It's a moot point anyway as I don't think juric will be here next season. Hopefully half this squad go with him

It's been there in patches but nothing consistent or lasting a whole game. First half of West Ham probably the best we played and that was his first game so doesn't bode well.

Although team selection etc etc has not been great I am not going to write him off with this squad because he has had an impossible task from day one. If however he is here next season and has had a chance to build his own squad and had a full pre season and nothing changes then and only then I may change my mind.

I haven't watched the last 3 games or so but I suspect there are real problems in the squad. We've said for years the squad has a poor mentality, we know there's an issue with Downes and I think Ramsdale made some comments on Sky at the weekend about Martin being a big part of why he signed for us, which I found interesting. I'm sure Juric also said something in an interview about a "club problem" but I don't remember that very well.

Without being around the club and training ground none of us can know for sure but my instinct is Martin was far too matey with the players and now Juric has come in and started challenging a weak, unfit squad with a poor mentality, some of the players don't like that and are acting up to some extent.

It'll be interesting to see what Spors makes of the situation and what he decides to do.

I know he’s been dealt a bum hand and the squad isn’t good enough for the premier league, but the way he uses the players is just bizarre. Just take the CBs as an example.
I can understand the reason for asking one of the 3 CBs to step forward and create a number advantage for us in midfield, (RM did that with Stephens or Manning) but that isn’t what is happening. If Bree (for example) runs forward, Aribo or Les or whoever drops into the back line. It’s not even as if they are just changing positions, because Bree will run through the midfield in a random attempt to distract the opposition, only to be ignored by the opposition and his own team mates with the ball. All it does is create a vacuum in our midfield that even championship teams will exploit.
I just don’t think his ideology works and I would rather have a manager that isn’t wedded to a single style of play.
I have also previously suggested that the training camp has gone from being a holiday camp to a boot camp. I think there is bad feeling towards him amongst the squad that might have been overlooked by some players if his methods were getting better results but they aren’t getting better.
A clean break is needed, imo.

Oh I agree but as a few have said the squad was built for RM and he was too pally with the players and Juric is maybe making them work harder and they don't like it . It may be more about the players attitude than his system. Only a guess mind as non of us know what goes on behind closed doors. I do get the impression that he is a very strict manager.

A complete and utter clear out is needed from top to bottom in my opinion. I want no hangover from this dreadful season at all. Barring 2 players, the rest and the manager can go. I don't want that failure and lack of courage anywhere near us anymore.

I can accept that and agree with the squad being recruited to fit RM.
I just feel that those who were close to RM might never accept Juric so the next manager will be Juric’s replacement and puts a bit of space between him and the squad as he won’t be the “evil stepfather” replacing friendly Russ.
