The only disappointment for me has been son ... just not on it. Davies has been caught out speed wise couple of times. Giving away too many free kicks too
He's been good going forward but as nominally the holding midfielder has done very little to protect the defence, as usual.
Watch him when the game isn't being played in front of him. He has no idea what to do or how to do it. Porro is the same.
Are we all watching the same game, I think this is a very energised Spurs team, playing some lovely football! We're not letting UTD into the game for large parts.
We’ve dominated possession but it should probably be 1-1, Vicario with a couple good saves to deny Utd. Nothing against Kinsky but he’s leagues behind Vic at the moment, especially from shot stopping and general keeping. Midfield three and the two FBs have been really good. Danso also having his best game so far for us. Tel’s the only one that’s struggled in my opinion, albeit he’s not seen too much of the ball either.
Well, we're ahead, but it's really scrappy. Some good energy from Tel, Spence and Bergvall, but otherwise it's not great. Thankfully we're playing against one of the worst United teams I've ever seen.
Tel hasn't stopped trying but he isn't suited to playing centrally, especially against two big lumps at the back who sit deep and kick everything that moves. Lack of other options though. Might be worth trying Kulu down the middle and Tel out wide? Wouldn't be surprised to see Scarlett before long.
Poor half. Good to be leading but should be level. Spurs have to be tighter defensively otherwise Utd could cause problems second half.
Which kind of sums up the problem...he's making good runs but not being found. Maddison particularly needs to make this passes through the line.
Good control for a lot of that half but not enough end product and still give the ball away too easily at times and inviting pressure. Now lets not switch off as the 2nd half starts and I would get Moore and Johnson on for the last 30 and really get at them down the flanks.
The bench certainly gives more confidence than it has of late. Love Spence, it's like signing a new player. Unfortunately he looks better running forward than Son.
Ben has been pretty solid and came to the rescue a couple of times. But yes, Sonny is really not at it...
