At the end of the day it was away at City. Our current form and their bad season meant we potentially had a better chance than normal, but today was reality for both teams. I'll never get too cut up about losing at the Etihad until things significantly change.
Agree. Forest, Bournemouth, us, Villa, Fulham, all in the mix for Europe, while Man U and Spurs flounder is exactly what the PL needs.
Also Liverpool out of the FA cup massively opens everything up. Sadly we got Brighton, who always seem to do well against us.

We are what we are. We can beat anyone on the day but on the flip side, anyone can beat us. I think it's clear that Schar and Trippier are coming to the end of the NUFC time. Burn still is great but he cant play out from the back and that hurts us in games like today. I hope that we buy 2 CB's, a RW and a Striker in the summer and we get them in early. If APT falls then we need sponsorships lined up so if they are null and void, we annouce them within a week of verdict. We need to push on now, we have gone from relegation team to dare I say, a constant top 10 team. We now need to make the leap to become a constant top 5 team. It wont be easy!
Our cbs are the worst in the division, but no matter what occurs people point somewhere else. It's only a temporary issue and the club will start building on solid foundations over the next year or 2.
Schar and Krafth in talks for one year extensions, which is a good thing for me. Krafth can remain for another year as a stand in, and Schar holds our defence together considering how much Botman has been out recently.
Holy crap on a cracker. We literally just went on a 9 match winning where the "worst cbs in the division" conceded a grand total of 3 goals in that period.
There's good players around them. They're awful and today's 1st goal was exactly why.. One ball over the top and both were nowhere to be seen. They are everywhere they don't need to be and have the turning circle of a cruise ship. Two quality cbs and we're a completely different animal. We've already seen the difference Botman makes.
Anthony Gordon has repeatedly said Dan Burn is his player of the year, and Schar was our best defender under Rafa and Bruce, and has been an ever present during our rise up. Botman is the best, but I worry than he's going to be injured too regularly. We clearly need to buy another CB, but let's not delude ourselves into think Schar and Burn are terrible, they're both serious grafters.
No you quoted several players who have been vital in our great run. You listed Schar as one of those despite in my opinion him being awful hence me questioning Schar.
Schar had his purple patch but my god he's nowhere near now. Both cbs are far too slow, they are everywhere they shouldn't be and keep giving the ball away.
Yup. His purple patch was 2 seasons ago. He literally gifts the opposition the ball in a dangerous position at least twice per game by coming forward and then wayward passing. And yes Botman is class but again he's so slow.
