I don't disagree altogether, and the rivers could certainly be better, but the claims on just how bad they are warrant a closer look and don't always stand up to scrutiny, nor comparison to those of other Countries who are often far worse.

Having said that, from direct dealings with the local water board, I can see where the shower of **** starts.
