I don’t think Jacob’s good enough per se but I think having a natural left-back is better than an immobile and slow centre-half at left-back. I actually think McLoughlin’s our best passer at centre-half currently so we’re not getting the best out of him at left-back and as a knock-on effect, not getting the best out of Jones either. Jones looks uncomfortable at left centre-back. It might seem a minor thing but some centre-halves are miles better playing at one side in a back four. Some are comfortable playing out from the back on either side like Hughes.
