Or you can have a broadly socialist attitude to things like nationalising services, education, health and housing but not want to extend that to everyone on Earth who fancies rocking up here. Especially the ones that belong to a barbaric medieval death cult.
In principle, I think nationalising key utilities would be a good thing, however, as we've seen from the NHS, it needs a clear structure and good management, as well as a lack of political interference. I'm just not sure that I have enough confidence any of those controls would be in place or adequate enough for nationalisation to be better than an appropriately regulated private sector.

I don't disagree altogether, and the rivers could certainly be better, but the claims on just how bad they are warrant a closer look and don't always stand up to scrutiny, nor comparison to those of other Countries who are often far worse. Having said that, from direct dealings with the local water board, I can see where the shower of **** starts.
