... while there seems to be very little for us. As our next Saturday/3pm kick off isn't until March 8th it seems a good time to post this petition. I doubt the club makes much from these games and the cost to supporters, pubs, etc, is often considerable. The away support often have to change plans, book hotels and miss work because of this. The home support is also affected and the atmosphere takes a knock if we have midday kick offs. People have commitments on Saturday mornings with children, partners, etc that knocks our attendance, the situation is worse for the thousands of exiles and opposition support. Of course the attendance announced is incorrect, some SC holders simply can't make it or bring children. Personally, I'm at the game tomorrow and it's impossible to get home afterwards as it is for the Scottish Branch, the lads from Kirkcaldy, etc. Of course there are always night matches, etc, but the TV companies move games that should be easy for our away support. Sheff Wed could've been a nice easy Saturday game but now it means possibly having to leave work early and getting home after midnight if you're lucky. It's great that people incapable of getting to matches can see their team live but it's often a real pain if you're going. I've signed this petition and I expect plenty of others will do ... https://www.change.org/p/limit-the-...-pick-an-efl-team-for-tv-fixtures-in-a-season please log in to view this image
I've signed it. I hate Friday night, early Saturday,Sunday or Monday evening matches......makes it so much more difficult for me to get there. However,I'm under no illusion that this petition won't make a scrap of difference. The TV companies provide the money....and the money rules!
I don't mind fixtures moving. Quite like a Friday night, or a Saturday lunchtime game. I suspect I'm in the minority though.
I'm a watch TV bloke. I don't live in the area anymore and financially couldn't afford the price of a match very often. But 100% agree with what I've seen our fans and other teams fans saying online. Why the **** do fans have to travel the length of the country to get to a early Saturday kick off etc... all for the convenience of the armchair fan who only had to walke to their sitting room and sit their arse down on the couch! Signed.
Signed. Another gripe I have is with midweek fixtures. I understand that they need to happen and I buy my SC realising because of my age and distance (2 hour drive) I will not be able to attend. Seeing as I have bought my seat you would think there could be a way of opening the broadcast to us for a nominal fee. How this could be done is difficult I know! Just a thought Rant over.
Signed. While I don't mind the odd game being changed for TV, this is getting ridiculous. No 3pm Saturday kick off in the whole of February and I can only expect it to get worse as the season goes on. I think New Year's day this year took the biscuit. An 8pm kick off on a day when public transport stopped at 6pm. How many fans of both clubs were massively inconvenienced by that stupid kick off time, I've no idea.
Good post mate. It’s becoming a piss take. I mentioned the amount of football on TV being harmful for the the game on another thread a few months ago and got slaughtered - I LOVE watching football and it’s great having it on every night during December but the folk who suffer are those of who go to the match regularly. We can’t have our cake and eat it!
Im the same, struggle to get to matches these days due to commitments but I've signed it as sick of fans being shafted for TV schedules
Been some shocking mid week games this year too, Bristol city coming up here on a Tuesday night is horrific they’d probably bring 1000+ on a Saturday lucky if there was 300 that night, same for Luton, we used to regularly get Pompey away midweek too, baffling
Signed. We should at the very least have much more notice of changes. As I have said before ny son has a season card and lives in Lieth and books his train tickets as early as possible to get the best deals, it costs a lot to travel to the games over a season, changing games makes this more difficult, 12.30 kick offs are a nightmare as are 8.00 games, getting across to Newcastlefor the last train to Edinburgh can be tricky, especially as we always stay to the last kick of
