Saints will once again be without Taylor Harwood-Bellis for the visit of Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday. The defender limped off at half time during the win at Ipswich a fortnight ago and remains sidelined for this weekend's south coast clash, with Adam Lallana also a doubt. Ivan Jurić explained: "We have a problem with Harwood-Bellis, he’s not ready yet and I'm really disappointed about that. Lallana has a little problem with his hamstring that we’ll see tomorrow and everything else is good." The Saints boss also confirmed captain Jack Stephens will return to team training next week having also suffered an injury setback at Portman Road. "Jack Stephens is out because he was out in the last game but next week he will start training with us, but we have to be careful because he was a long time out. I will be delighted when he can come back and train with us again." CREDIT:- Saints OS.
Sutton finally right about something, broken clock yada yada.... Even in the FA Cup against Burnley, Southampton could not give their home fans anything to cheer about. Dear me, what a depressing season this has been for them. Saints would be better off finishing the campaign now - just packing up, shutting the ground down and looking forward to next season, or looking ahead to it, anyway - why would you be looking forward to it after such a dismal few months? Said it before. Just jack it in now, avoid the humiliation
In what way, shape or form is that productive or useful journalism? Just Sutton being the twat that he is. You know what, if a miracle does happen and we do stay up somehow, I'm going to phone up 606 on the last day of the season and tell Sutton he's a ****ing moron who makes Robbie Savage look intelligent live on the radio.
Sutton's prediction: 1 - 3 I'd be shocked if Bournemouth don't win this. Bournemouth are well organised, have a good balance to their team and Justin Kluivert is on fire. They have quite a few injuries but you don't hear them complain do you? They just get on with it. The Wombats drummer Dan Haggis, who is an Everton fan's prediction: Bournemouth looked really good against us. 1 - 2
Sorta wrong thread & haven’t seen this posted anywhere? BURNLEY midfielder Jonjo Shelvey admitted feeling Saints were "never going to score" - even when the St Mary's side were attacking. Jeez, so embarrassing
Sorry, but Sutton is a twat and proves that he knows nothing about us. Predicting that we will score. What a loser
Really interesting comments from Juric here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp8kgkx947go
Has there been any comment on what the THB injury is and how long he’ll actually be out? I’m probably and hopefully way off the mark, but getting Deja vu with this and how it started off with Downes.
Yes as you say, very interesting & lots of little side shows in those comments. Christ what a mess we are.
Not sure if he's doing a Downes, as it were, but he has signed with a new agent which is usually a sign that the player is starting to initiate either a move away or a new contract (unlikely to be that option, in our scenario!)
I get the impression that Staplewood has gone from being a holiday camp to being a boot camp and some of the group are missing “Uncle Russ” and his tummy rubs when they play badly which is why, imo, one or two might be upset.
Footballers and their charmed lives. They don't get it do they? My old boss was awesome and we got on great. My new boss is ok but I don't like a lot of his methods. You know what, I have to deal with it. I can't just down tools or whine to the press. I either suck it up and get on with it or I leave (and give up many years of well earned perks). Oh to bring back the days of the manager being the boss! We'll never see that again though sadly
Suspected, like many on here, that we have had and continuing issues with attitude. Martin didn’t deal with it seems and Ivan now has to do it his way. It may not be the best way, but whatever let’s see. I’ve reached the point where I go to matches, hope we can change things and get some points, but low expectations and very little nervousness of the final outcome. If I see a good game that makes my time and cash worthwhile but lose, then that’s an improvement however useless for our season. If we win, joy for seven days but that’s all, and back to much reduced hope that perhaps a change for the good is longer than seven days! Just give us a performance that warms us up !! COYR!!
Bournemouth are in for a big shock tomorrow. Saints will destroy them with our tour da force football. Tough team selection but I'd go 4 3 3 with a focus on scoring goals
