Gutting. Straight back to it on Friday night...and hopefully back to winning ways. Our win last Tuesday, against Blackburn, after two losses against Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday, steadied the ship a little, but the loss last night, particularly given how late it was, is hard to take. We've now won three and lost two in our last five. As for our visitors, Derby County drew 0-0 against Oxford United on Tuesday night, and drew 1-1 with Norwich on Saturday. They have drawn their last two, ending a run of seven straight league losses from 29th December 2024, plus an FA Cup exit to Leyton Orient on penalties. This run has seen them drop all the way to the brink of the relegation zone, and they are currently outside the bottom three only thanks to scoring two more goals than Hull City. Their top scorer is Jerry Yates, with 8 goals. Team news and manager comments to go up when on the official, enjoy if you'll be at HQ, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
I was looking forward to this as a Saturday afternoon kick off at 3pm ... However, Friday night and Valentines night at 8pm is a killer. I've already arranged to go out elsewhere. Ridiculous time to have a match.
My impression - not supported by the figures Dave posted - is that we tend to beat Derby. Home wins under the lights and on Sky would be very lovely.
I think we've had a few big wins against them, so it seems like more than it is...that said, we've beaten them in four of our last six meetings, so we are on a good run against them!
I offered to bring my wife to the game as a Valentine's treat, but she declined. The romance is dead.
On Tuesday the stream went down at the start of stoppage time so I was relying on our WhatsApp group for updates...... off course we conceded at the death and I uttered those immortal words..... Ah bollox..... Mrs T asked what happened and when I told her, the reply was, at least someone scored a goal!!!! Anyway, bollox to this Valentine's rubbish tomorrow, the R's are on and we're going to tonk Derby.......
I also fondly remember Conor Washington’s managerial stint. They were right gobby ****s after we played like tarts and deservedly lost there. Would like to crush them. **** town, grim people. I’ve lost track of their managerial situation but assume Eustace is in place.
Eustace is announced on the official Rams site. This will possibly be the first time we've faced the same manager in back to back home games with two different clubs.
By contrast, an evening game while the wife is on call for work means I can go, which I'm delighted with. Sorry 9s - your loss is my gain this time round. Really looking forward to this one - my only games so far this season were Blackburn & Luton at home so let's see if I can make it 3 wins on the bounce...
90 minutes of forgettable disappointment is better than five. Get yourself down to Matrade Loftus Road to cheer on the boys with a pint of Matrade.
According to all 3 of my weather apps it will ‘feel like’ 0 degrees C at 8:00 pm this evening. Wrap up warm and enjoy yourselves, I’m staying in the warm Cheers Dave.
Well regardless of Stans dire prediction of a freezing evening. I'm here. Drinking an overpriced coffee to get warm
It’s going to be a gloves night at hq tonight. Despite the dip in results at least we aren’t playing like we were earlier in the season, all 3 defeats recently could have easily been more positive results and certainly not getting played off the park…. However it’s a results game so let’s hope they don’t get the new manager bounce.
