I will be totally honest mate if it was my missus who asked me to do it, I would in a heartbeat and worry about the consequences afterwards, I don’t think anyone could do much to make me feel any worse.

The initial heartbreak will be easier to come terms with than watching someone deteriorate in agony at home to a person you no longer recognise mate! I’d hate for my daughters to see me end up like that.

I had my cat put down the other week. He was 21 years old. He was fully with it but his back legs had gone. We agreed with the vet that he would have no quality of life and we took the very sad but best decision for the boy.

Now I'm fully aware of the difference between animal and human. I'm just saying...

I feel this topic is a double edged sword for me. If it was me then yes I wouldn't want my family to watch me fail but before they died my mam suffered with dimentia and my dad had Parkinson's and was in a home and although they weren't the people who brought me into the world and taught me right from wrong when I was younger, I would still want them in my life.

Just to update all. I rushed back from the match last night as he'd insisted a few days ago that I went, to sit with him overnight. Not long after we arrived at the hospice he passed away quietly. So pleased we were there for him. R.I.P matey. :emoticon-0153-broke

Sums up how I feel perfectly, which is why I am very much 'in'.

Being stuck in a bed 24/7, or not knowing who I am, or who my wife is, scares me so much more than death.

    Sorry to hear this mate.
Good that you were there for him at the end, he would have known you were.
    Thoughts are with you all.
    R.I.P. to your friend.
