All games bar Plymouth going in our favour thankfully. Was suffering the Wurzels v Stoke, absolutely dreadful game, Stoke were REALLY bad... TBF to the Wurzels their goals were good and they defended well (not that Stoke really tested them) but overall they didn't look much good and I'd go so far as to say Pompey looked a far better side against us last night. No doubts they'll be well up and confident for the weekend now though after that result. Hopefully they carry on playing that poorly though as it wasn't really any better than the game they lost to the Jacks on Sunday..
The thing about tonight’s results was save Plymouth the teams around us were always more likely to lose given who their opponents were. We’ve been to Leeds but neither Sheff U or Sunderland which is a worry given our away form and being too slow out of the gate. It’s as we all know how we do versus bottom half teams which will decide this. Yes other teams will be playing each other but let’s not be reliant on other results. What though I can’t get past is Luton and/or Hull going down. I just think they’ll both have a bounce soon.
Including Villa cup game away on Friday 28th, 20.00 kick off. An extra day recovery before Burnley but not encouraging for those wanting to go to Villa.
Bloody Friday night?????? The FA need their arses kicking.... Absolutely no thought for fans whatsoever with the way they are scheduling the cup games this year.
Should br renamed TV Company Cup as it is more for the benefit of them and armchair watchers, not fans who follow their clubs up and down the country.
It’s suited for Villa to give them more time to rest before their Champions League game the following week. They might not want to risk several of their players but whatever team they pick they’ll still be way too strong for us
I'll settle for another 7-0 Leeds style thrashing at Villa if we can win the 3 league games before that - or at least get 7 points from them. That'll do me.
Sensational 3rd goal for Stoke. Jack keeper off his line and a Stoke player saw that and hit it from inside his own half into the net - fair play . Only downside - Stoke won. ........but never mind - the jacks lost.
Overall therefore a point gained on Derby, Plymouth & Luton but two points lost on Stoke & Portsmouth. Are Oxford & swansea going to be dragged into it?
This morning it looked like 3 from 6 to go down. With stoke winning, 3 from 5. We need a couple wins to pull us back in touch with stoke, Portsmouth and the Swans. It's going to be tight for us.
